Is Nantz doing Saturday and Sunday or the whole week? Is there a good way to watch coverage, especially Sunday, and avoiding him?

Thanks, cshea

I'm guessing those are the Featured Groups on the Masters.com streaming.
I think they are just RO's highlighted groups. They don't usually announced the streaming groups until the day before (althought it'd be simultaineously the shock and crime of the century if Tiger wasn't one of the two on Thursday)

Fair to say Tiger will be in the featured groups.

Has a player ever wound up playing on his own on Thursday or Friday at the Masters? Not 100% out of the realm of possibility for the Mullet Man.
Yes, someone in one of the pairs withdrew during the fall tournament and we had a rare weekday sighting of Masters marker Jeff Knox

I don't know the first thing about golf but it seems to have odd rules. I mean, a guy can essentially invite himself to the playoffs without ever having played a regular season game? I know it's a great story and everyone is pulling for the guy but it just seems so strange to be able to do this.

I don’t no now the first thing about golf either, but he has a standing invite as a past winner, I am fairly sure.

Past champions are eligible to play every year until they die.

Checks out.

Any Masters winner can play the Masters and only the Masters for the rest of their lives. Tiger, at 81 and if he can swing, would be eligible to play in the Masters.

No longer true - ANGC is easing out the old guys around age 65. (EDIT - I don't think it's an official rule, but that has been about when most past champions stop playing these days.)

If Tiger wants to play at 81 and can still swing and not make a mockery of himself, Tiger would be allowed to play. Obviously Tiger won't be able to play at 81, he can barely play in his 40s.

But, still, Tiger can do what he wants. And Augusta would let him.

I love that commercial! Yeah "playoffs" (LOL) that was the only thing I could think of to draw as a comparison. I suppose that "standing invitation" is one of the unique things that many people find endearaing about the Masters. OK.
All golf majors have a variation of standing invitations for past champions. US Open champs get a ten year exemption. British Open champs get exemptions until they turn 61.

Another unwritten rule is that you are no longer invited if you start a breakaway professional golf tour with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, even if you're a past champion

I assume that if you get a double eagle to force a playoff that you win you still get at least one swing for the next 60+ years.

lots of rain on the course so far this week = low scores. It will be mild and dry in Augusta behind a Wednesday cold front. 30s at night. 60s and 70s during the day. Picture perfect golf weather.

Wind might be a factor this week. Fri-Sat with 25-30mph gusts.
