Might see the Sox take one of the Tenn OF with so many other presumed targets already gone.

What would everyone think about Connor Prielipp?
I like it. Another guy with high upside. Sox pick in 37th round in 2019 because everyone knew he was going to school.
Short, replicable motion with a great arm slot for a lefty that could really play up if the slider speed tracks the FB. His motion looks like he stops short of ideal follow-through, but he caught my eye in 2020 for how much he hides the ball. Recovering from TJ is obvs the big Q, but his mechanics and action look the same in the bullpen sessions you can find online from this year. Speed doesn't seem to be there yet, but in my humble opinion, a few small adjustments in the motion, particularly his follow-through, will bring back at least 2-3 mph. He's got Lester feels.

EDIT to add: I had to go back and transcribe this Harold Reynolds quote about Zach Neto's dad being a USPS letter carrier...

Harold Reynolds said:
His dad’s a mailman. . . . Just the fact that that guy is grinding every day. You wanna talk about an Iron Man? Ask your mail . . . person . . . what they do. Female or, or man. As they deliver that mail, rain, snow . . . sleet, hail, you name it . . . they’re there. And that mindset, for you to see that in your parents . . . it translates.

At this point, I've decided that I don't really care who we pick as long as it's to steal the MFY thunder. (pick who they would have picked)

Cardinals took the one guy I didn't want the Red Sox to take, entirely because of the name. It took me like three years to figure out how to pronounce "Casas!"

Eric Longenhagen of FanGraphs (who has been spectacular calling picks a couple before they are “official) all night says he’s heard Drew Gilbert and Mikey Romero as soft rumors for Sox here

This Blue Jays pick certainly doesn't lack for ego.

I hope he goes TJ in his first IP.
Is it too early to pick him in the 2026 contest?

Not sure what to think about this. Some of the arms that were still on the board seemed really really interesting.
