To the contrary, I appreciate that he's not doing Hot Take central. The Skip Bayless thing would be to say "I HATE pick #x -- F!" and "pick #x will be a STAR - A+!". The reality is we've all seen the rankings and we can debate if, say, Holmgren will be a bust or if Paolo was picked too high given some of the critiques of him. But anyone who says they know is fooling themselves, us, or just putting out Hot Takes to get attention. This sort of ranking is acknowledging that no one in this draft was picked far from a consensus so, sure, some picks one might like better than others, but it's kind of silly to think grading should be filled with As and Fs for a bunch of players that are graded along a pretty narrow band (particularly this year).
Oh no doubt. My comment was more tongue in cheek with so many “A’s” which traditionally mean “Excellent.”

Not related to the 35th pick or likely any pick. An old buddy of mine who used to coach Cole Swider and knows I’m a fanatic reached out this afternoon. He told me that the Lakers brought Swider in for two workouts (as did the Bucks) but spoke to him today saying they would be interested in signing him as a UFA and to be ready to go to Vegas next week for practice if he accepts.
Cool story and from all accounts a super good kid.

The Wenbanyama / Scoot highlights from tonight were pretty darn cool. We are gonna see some big tanking this year if those two get through healthy.

Cuse guy, so I'm rooting for Cole Swider but he (& Boeheim's kids) couldn't guard ACC wings last year.

Cole and Buddy are both on NBA 2-way contracts (Jimmy has serious pull with the Pistons). There is no way they can guard NBA players
But if they are lights out shooters, they can find a spot at the end of an NBA bench perhaps. I mean Duncan Robinson can’t guard anyone either.

Duncan Robinson looks like Marcus Smart next to Buddy Boeheim....

PLUS Buddy's shooting is massively overrated. ESPN slobbered over him, BB is far from lights out (that bit of PR was courtesy of the Newhouse mafia)

Buddy is a career 36% 3pt (34% last season) vs. Sam Hauser who shot 44% from 3 (& played real D at UVa for Tony Bennett).
Duncan Robinson shot 42% from 3 for his Michigan career. You can't equate Buddy to spot-up 3pt snipers like those two.

Troy Weaver (a former Cuse Asst Coach) and Dave Bing did Coach Boeheim a solid.

I love me some Orange but have to keep it real.

There's a reason that Cuse was under .500 for the first time in 50yrs. The perimeter defense led by JG3, Buddy, Jimmy and Cole was inept.
