Those top 3 QBs have been pretty hit and miss lately. But I agree that Denver pick is looking pretty sweet. Even Schneider could not have hoped things would have turned out this well.as long as caroll picks a qb with denver pick likely top 3 at this point seattle couild be a sb fav by the 2024 season
At this point in the season, beating that piece of crap Arizona team absolutely has to be the goal.Welp, they did it again, beating the 6-1 Giants to go to 5-3 and maintain a 1 game lead on the NFC West. Geno was solid, and the offense in general played well, but the defense has really stepped up and has gone from one of the worst in the league for the first 3 weeks to one of the best in the last 5 weeks.
Next week they head to their personal house of horrors, Arizona, where it seems they have a major injury every year (Quandre Diggs last year, Sherman and Chancellor in 2017, Earl Thomas and Will Dissly in 2018, among others). Then it's to Germany for a date with Tom Brady and the Bucs before their bye week. The goal next week is no major injuries. A win would be nice too, but I'd be happy with getting out of there without someone's season coming to an end.
To add to this, he is doing what Russ wouldnt do which is work through progressions instead of trying to make it all happen himself. I was a bit worried he would get happy feet after that Homer missed assignment that allowed him to just get lit up on a sack but he just stood tall and kept playing. He has fit into the offense almost perfectly and he's doing a lot of things that Russell wouldn't do, particularly throwing over the middle. Here's a ridiculous stat I just saw. Geno throwing to TEs: 53-61, 541 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT, 130.94 Rating. As a comparison, in 2020 (since Russ was hurt last year) in 16 games, he was 73-106, 759 yards, 6 TD, 4 INT, 92.45 Rating. Geno is doing better in the advanced stats than he is in traditional stats. He's just playing really well and is a total shocker to me.
Edit: The other element here is the drastic improvement of the offensive line. The rookie tackles have had rookie moments, but they are both very solid. The interior needs work but has been serviceable.
I just couldnt resist the joke about the lame suspension. The reality is I think we were all wrong on what this team was going to be this year. If you had told me they are 5-3, lead the NFC West, and are 4th in offense I would have laughed at you so hard I would have ended up pissing my pants.Yeah, it’s pretty lame they suspended the Tree for that, but I don’t want to shit up the Seahawks thread. I just came to eat crow
Same. I am still a Geno skeptic, but credit where credit is due. With Denver sucking out loud, the Seahawks have a chance to return to dominance quickly.I just couldnt resist the joke about the lame suspension. Looking at the NFC schedules you still have a good shot to make the playoffs and you outsourced your tank. Seems like you’re in good shapeAnd the last two games have been a complete shitshow. The offense was bad against Tampa and really not much better against the Raiders. Geno made a number of poor decisions, so all those articles about what Geno should be paid next year can be put on hold. Frankly, I'd be happy if he'd go elsewhere if he's going to be paid $30 million a year, no matter how long the deal.
The defense was brutally bad today. All of their weaknesses were exposed and they are going to have to adjust if they expect to win again. Run defense was piss poor and there was no pass rush for the 2nd consecutive week. Until those things are fixed, they are a fringe playoff team at best. Next week against the Rams is crucial. Even with all of the Rams injuries, they may not score against Aaron Donald, so the best they can hope for is a tie.
