I can't believe we have to put up with Kay and ARod for a series.

I can't believe we have to put up with Kay and ARod for a series.
It’s one of the biggest problems with MLB, the postseason games end up feeling less impactful because most of the national announcers suck so much.

If you are willing to pay money, you could subscribe to Youtube TV or something similar.

I am assuming you don't want to pay money.
Yeah… how to put this… I think I will take this question to P&G. Maybe there’s already some info there?

If there are no upsets (and I don't expect many after the first round this year), the Mets ended up with 100-101 wins but have an absurdly hard path:

SD (best of 3, all in NY)
LAD (starting in LA, so minimum two cross-country flights, and DeGrom/Scherzer not able to go in game 1)
ATL (starting in ATL, that went well for them this past weekend)
HOU (starting in HOU)

So the full bracket is locked in now:

#5 SDP at #4 NYM (winner plays #1 LAD)
#6 PHI at #3 STL (winner plays #2 ATL)

#5 SEA at #4 TOR (winner plays #1 HOU)
#6 TB at #3 CLE (winner plays #2 NYY)

Trying to figure out from that which series they think are most likely to go 3 games.

Cleveland and Tampa Bay getting both noon starts was the most predictable thing ever. Fortunately, I won't be working on Friday.

Some great pitching matchups first day:

McClanahan vs. Bieber
Castillo vs. Manoah
Darvish vs. Scherzer
Wheeler vs. Quintana (meh)

I am pulling so hard for Seattle to beat Toronto. Not that I dislike the Jay, I just really want to see playoff baseball in Seattle.

Does anyone find that the crowd sounds are too loud vis-a-vis the guys in the booth? (I really like Glanville, but in order to hear him at times, I have to turn the telly up so loud that the crowd noises are painful.)

Fall arrived in NE Ohio last night – temperature dropped 15°+ since yesterday – so these first two games are going to be in the lower 50°s, but in what has been the worst weather in a Cleveland baseball season I remember, they should at least stay dry. If they play on Sunday, it should be a nice one.

Not that I expect a repeat performance, but in McClanahan's only previous appearance against Cleveland, he got knocked out after 4.1 innings at the end of July and allowed 5 earned runs.

So many great SPs in the four games today, dunno how much scoring we will see before the bullpens step in.

Not sure how that matters, teams were lining up their aces for game 1 either way.
We only had NL east in doubt so yeah. Easier to line up when an extra day of rest. If more teams were trying to get the bye or to get in, the extra day would have mattered more.

Teams could have used their #1 on Tuesday (2nd to last game) and still ensured they would get their #1 in the first round if necessary. Pun intended. Or Monday (3rd last) and gotten their #1 in 100%.

It developed kind of quietly during the season (after a lot of early season talk that his stuff wasn't the same anymore), but I guess the secret is out now – Bieber is still one of the best pitchers in the game.

I get that Owen Miller is going to start against lefties, even though he doesn't hit them, because they aren't going to put the inexperienced lefty Will Brennan in there. I absolutely do not understand why Miller is batting 6th, ahead of Gimenez, who destroys lefties.

I don't know if I will ever get used to these super HD cameras that make people on TV look more real than they do in real life.

Also, this game is really good so far, if you like pitchers' duels. Which I do.
