The Jets didn't get enough of the Hackett experience from '01 to '04? To be fair that '04 team went 10-6 with Chad Pennington (13 games) & Quincy Carter (3) games, & had a top 6 offense in yards.

Paul Hackett was forced out via resignation after '04 & the next year Mike Heimerdinger's offense finished 29th in years on the way to a 4-12 record (of course there was a lot of Brooks Bollinger that season...).

Not sure what would lead one to believe Nathaniel Hackett is a good OC, though, after not calling the plays for the Packers & Aaron Rodgers & whatever that was in Denver this year, but oh well.

Jesters are hiring two positions(rumors is OC anns Senior Advisor) and Matt LaFleur is Saleh’s buddy so it will be a full information decision. The HC job by Hackett was not inspiring, that is true.

As long as they don't move Hackett to DC, like what the Pats did with Patricia after his disastrous HC stint

It's funny all these coordinators are taking the bullets for the failures.

Like, Brandon Staley and Todd Bowles keep their jobs despite huge fuck ups. But then the coordinators go down.

And despite a historically bad running game, the Bucs are keeping the OL coach and run game coordinator.

But the WR coach must go!

Roman, who built the Lamar Jackson offense, leaving might mean the Ratbirds are looking toward a post-Lamar future ... or it might mean nothing of the sort

I do appreciate, though, Baltimore acknowledging that Roman is a person

Lamar didn't travel with the team to a playoff game. And he's sat for almost two months.

Needless to say, his tenure in Baltimore is complete. Someone will pay him and they will regret it.

I assume the Jets won't finalize an OC decision until they're sure they can't land Brady or Lamar.

Is it me or does it seem like there's been a lot of OCs fired this offseason? I believe I read there are ten current OC openings.

Of course XXX rejects that dubious piece of wisdom and has his criminal buddies from up north take drugs back...and in turn has his own problems from someone way down the layer cake.

As an aside that gem of a movie is a goddamn star making machine. Sally Hawkins, Ben Whishaw and Tom Hardy with minor parts ( I for one didn't foresee see Slasher being nominated for multiple oscars)? Burn Gorman aka "The legend from fleabottom "as the criminal from up north? Cody (of the scamming duo Cody and Tiptoes) ended up becoming a serious director/producer, taking over the direction of Bohemian Rhapsody and directing Rocketman and Eddie the Eagle. Freddie Hurst--the dude that falls alseep in the van for like one scene--became a lead on Vikings. Even Junkie number two appears to have had a decent career playing some guy named John Constantine in DC properities on CW and NBC.

Very cool insights on maybe my favorite film. Also Matthew Vaughn’s directorial debut.

It's one of my favorites and amazingly underrated. Sienna Miller's first major role. Daniel Craig obv enough. But it's just absolutely wild that a dozen actors in it went on to much bigger and better things--Tom Hardy and Ben Whishaw have what, 7 lines of dialogue between them?

For your pleasure Colm Meany's bodyguard/driver/heavy with the moustache was, from the looks of it, a more than halfway decent boxer.

So Payton to anywhere but Denver.
If I’m Payton the only job that puts the bulge in my onion bag is the LAC, and that one looks like it’s not available. Better to wait it out another year and maybe try to go wherever Caleb Williams ends up, not so dissimilar from Parcells-Bledsoe.

Had to be done. They were a terrible unit.
Pretty amazing Donatell got a job where he was calling plays. He’s 65 and hadn’t done it since 2006 (I believe Fangio called them in Denver) and was the Packers DC when they gave up 4th and 26 to Freddie Mitchell. It’s natural for an inexperienced offensive HC to want a veteran DC, but it feels like they definitely could’ve aimed higher.

Panthers have been in violation of NFL rules regarding search for permanent head coach

As of Tuesday evening, the Carolina Panthers had been in violation of NFL rules regarding their search for a permanent head coach, multiple sources tell CBS Sports.

A league executive called the Panthers on Wednesday morning to remind the team that all members of its search committee were to complete the mandatory inclusive hiring training before beginning the search, which has now seen five coaching candidates be interviewed.

Your picks for Denver are like diametrically opposed.

Ryans is a ?. Did a great job improving SF already good D but that team is absolutely loaded with talent. Does Denver’s D talent map to what SF does. I’d want an O guy if I was a Denver fan.

well we signed DT dj jones and CB K Williams from SF last season and they want ryans i want a off guy but ryans is young knows the shanny system played for kubiak in hou got better every year as a dc if wilson is done if will not matther if vince lombradi is the coach denver wouild be porked for 3 years and yes den shcme is close to SF just does Not have fast LB'S

i think denver owner wants peyton but tepper car owner might offer more power and at least 2 1sts which denver cant offer 2 ones

i wouild assume the 3rd choice wouild be dan quinn

What about Shane Steichen? Runs a system with a similarly mobile QB. Gets a lot out of the run game generally. Doesn’t seem to ask his QB to do too much, which might be good in Wilson’s case.

The Hackett hire I get, this oline guy… seems sketch. I don’t recall Titans pass pro being decent.

You like the Hacket hire?? I get he was good with Aaron but without him?? Seems really suspect.

Like is too strong. He has had some success, he has experience, worked under Saleh’s best friend in GB so besides direct knowledge, Saleh knows the score on this guy better than I do, flamed out as HC, keep door on Rodgers open. Also seems like a soft touch which was a critique Steve Young had about MLF interactions with Zach (being a hard ass).

Absolutely sucking in Denver is not great, doesn’t seem like a leader but that’s not the job.

Rodgers on the Jets would almost be like a stimulus package for the NY media. He got away with a lot of nonsense in GB that would absolutely not fly there.

Yes yes, Kyrie Irving has been run out of town or did he get the most fan votes for the all star game, I can never remember.

Hackett is pretty clearly a "Rodgers liked this guy, maybe he'll come here" hire at this point, he didn't call plays in GB and was terrible at it in Denver to the point he gave it up.

He was fine with Bortles. Did he get the jobs from being friends with McVay and LaFleur? Sure, but he is qualified to be an OC. I’m on a wait and see plan.

Edit: probably see him as Rodgers at best, Zach reclamation at worst (if you read the stories about how he worked with Bortles)

That’s fair.

But I don’t think it’s a stretch to say playing in NY is a different animal.
