Ah, I thought I had one more day to watch Spring Training games on last year's mlb.tv subscription (supposedly expires March 1). Alas, a day early I'm locked out of streaming. Reupped for the MLBPAA discount but don't think it'll be in time to see tonight's event. These are the major crises that test a person's mettle, I suppose.

Boy, this Greg Allen kid has hit two beautiful oppo doubles and now scores on ineptness by the Marlins' fielders. (Casas would have been out, I believe, last year.) I'm enjoying Youkilis, and so far OB hasn't been too annoying.

I agree. Allen is a nice player. He'd be a good choice for a fifth outfielder, if they go in that direction.

He was a pretty intriguing prospect back in the period when Cleveland couldn't develop any outfielders to save their lives, but then didn't really hit much at the big league level after they brought him up. But he can play all three infield positions and he hit pretty well in the minors, so there's something there.

For starters, his fanboy interjections when DOB is describing a ball in play seems really amateurish.
