I’ll get someone else to ask those questions.
That's not buying, that's just keeping your name in the news. Guy's got one reception in the last month.Per Jerruh Dak is going on IR, and they're apparently buying here at the trade deadline in that they're sending a 4th to Carolina for WR Jonathan Mingo and a 7th.
Agreed. I’d hate that deal as a Cowboys fan. Mingo isn’t very good and the team is going nowhere this year.A 4th (even if you're getting a 7th back) for Mingo feels like a real overpay.
No idea if BB would be interested but it would make a whole lot of sense. There is some talent on this team and they desperately need discipline and toughness. So, when McCarthy gets shown the door, what are the odds Belichick is the next HC of the DC?

And Jerry might be desperate enough to cave to whatever financial demands BB would have. He already did it with Dak, CeeDee, etc.
I would expect those demands would be less financial than personnel in nature. Jerry has had final say over the Cowboys roster forever – but he just might be desperate enough to concede them for a guy who could get him a ring during his twilight years. If so, get yer damn popcorn ready because a Jerruh-Bill standoff would be glorious required viewing and make the Parcells years in Dallas look like a walk in the park by comparison. And Jerry might be desperate enough to cave to whatever financial demands BB would have. Yup. This simply has to happen. The entertainment value would be off the charts.I would expect those demands would be less financial than personnel in nature. I think Bill cares less about whether Dak can win him a SB at this point and more about whether he can help him get 13 more career wins before he retires or is fired.I would say it all hinges on whether he thinks Dak is a guy he can go to a Super Bowl with. His own window is likely pretty short, and I don’t think he’s the guy for any kind long term rebuild anymore. He’s obviously forgotten more about football than I’ll ever know, but I’d be very wary of inheriting Dak. I think he’s pedestrian, and very overrated.
Really does make sense for both parties. QB in place. Star WR. Parsons. Diggs. Last place or 2nd to last place schedule. Top 10 pick. Certainly some holes to plug but this is a team that could be good quickly. What a beat down. The ranks of potential BB suitors is swelling.
I'd hope a guy looking for a good team's season and a half's worth of wins wouldn't want to start with Danny Dimes or Rookie TBD behind center.Really does make sense for both parties. QB in place. Is Jerry now desperate enough? Does BB want this? Would he want to go back to Giants for nostalgia?
Apparently you aren't aware that they cashed in the Dimes for some Cutlets in NY.I'd hope a guy looking for a good team's season and a half's worth of wins wouldn't want to start with Danny Dimes or Rookie TBD behind center.

Do they have a Simpsons character for him yet? They need to just throw Trey Lance out there the rest of the season.
Agreed. But it’s also worth noting that BB has raved about Dak almost every time he talks about him. I think he views him as a very competent QB at the very least and perhaps someone who can take them very far if the rest of the team can play ball.I think Bill cares less about whether Dak can win him a SB at this point and more about whether he can help him get 13 more career wins before he retires or is fired.
They need to fix the depth issue on the Dline and they need another WR.In typical Cowboys fashion they've made a real conundrum out of things as they keep winning games when they now can't make the playoffs and hurting their draft stock. I think you probably have to bring McCarthy and Zimmer back at this point too as the team obviously hasn't packed it in and the defense has gotten a physical edge to it we haven't seen in a long time. Special mention to Jourdan Lewis who has been balling all year and had a ridiculous INT last night.
He’s under the fifth year option for next year at about a $25M fully guaranteed salary.I don't really have any other suggestion but I'd be hard pressed to want McCarthy back if I were a Cowboy fan. The guy came into the season on a lame duck contract and seemingly needed to reach the NFCC to justify his job, then failed miserably and was eliminated from the playoffs by week 16. Sure it's great that that players play hard and yeah injuries and all, but this does not seem to be the guy to lead this franchise back to the Super Bowl. And if you are going to bring him back you'd need to give him what, a 3-5 year contract?
I agree they should lock up Parsons. Seems like a no brainer, but this is Jerry we're dealing with here. Is he under contract for next season?
I heard on the Athletic pod that all Dallas coaches are on year to year contracts, so he'd just be re-upped for another year. And while I get why fans would want them to look elsewhere, if they finish 9-8/8-9 without having their QB for most of the season, that's going to be hard to justify. McCarthy has taken a team to a Super Bowl, while nobody knows if any of the "hot assistants", including the latest "girl with a curl" Ben Johnson, can even handle the top spot. If the Cowboys let him go, some team will hire Mike McCarthy, that's for certain.I don't really have any other suggestion but I'd be hard pressed to want McCarthy back if I were a Cowboy fan. They wouldn't bring in any of the hot assistants regardless besides Kellen Moore. The other two people interviewed would be Deion Sanders and Jason Witten, and I think McCarthy is better than any of those three.I heard on the Athletic pod that all Dallas coaches are on year to year contracts, so he'd just be re-upped for another year. Maybe but Deion coaching the Cowboys would be one of the most fun things the NFL has seen in years and that’s ultimately all that matters…They wouldn't bring in any of the hot assistants regardless besides Kellen Moore. I don’t understand the year to year thing. McCarthy signed a five year contract in 2020 that expires after the season. There’s not much chance he signs a one year deal, so if they’re going to go with him, I think it would have to be a multi your contract. Maybe I misheard them, but that was my understanding. They did talk about how Jerry is very patient with his HCs, citing all the chances Jason Garrett got. What about the moon?Yesterday Jerry said he’s fine with McCarthy interviewing with other teams, then today there’s a report that the Bears want to interview him and are waiting for permission to do so.
Does Dallas want him back? If so what’s the hold up? If not, who’s up next?
