I think after not being able to trust Skylar Thompson to even hand off the ball and go three and out to run out the clock in a three score blowout, Miami needs to be making a push for Daniel Jones.

I know he isn’t good, but he’s better than Skylar by an order of magnitude. We’re a Tua hero-scramble away from the season being over.

He should also want to go there.

Recent news has Prouty set to come back next week, and Indy may not want to stir the pot further with Richardson. An argument could be made for NO.

Otherwise, Miami may be his best option to learn and establish a possible backup role for '26.

It's fun to see this team have a chance for .500 on Thursday. Here's hoping SF delivers a tough, physical game vs. the Pack this evening.

Raiders would probably give him a chance to play right now, but they’re also terrible.

From what I saw, he seems to want to go to a playoff team. That basically means he’s willing to accept a backup role.

Not sure there’s a better backup situation in the league than Miami.

I also want to acknowledge the growth of Mike McDaniel and Tua. The last two season, when teams took away the explosive plays, Miami didn’t have an answer. We’re now seeing the evolution of the offense. They’re running some true west coast passing concepts and finally exploiting all of that soft coverage with Jonnu underneath.

Now McDaniel and Tua are much more patient and methodical. A much different team than we have seen the last two years, but one that is likely more sustainable against better opponents.

I have been impressed with the Dolphins since Tua came back. Haven't been the biggest Tua guy but he has proven me wrong. Their defense is also playing very well. If they can somehow sneak into the playoffs, they could make some noise.

Obviously crushing a team in the NFL says something and the Phins murdered the Pats yesterday. But Miami is on a three game winning streak by beating the Rams (ok), Vegas (terrible) and the Pats.(terrible)

It doesn't mean much until this team can actually beat a good team, let alone a great team. Miami's wins are Pats x2, Jacksonville, Vegas, and the Raiders. Every one of those teams is in last place in their division.

They played Buffalo really tough @ Buffalo. That was probably the most impressive thing they have done over the last 4 weeks.

They also probably should have beaten the Cardinals (decent), but the defense crapped the bed.

They had the lead in Buffalo and lost to a 61 yard FG with 5 seconds left. That’s a loss you can live with.

At some point they need to win some of these close games, but at least they have some momentum moving in the right direction.

It will be interesting to see what teams start to do regarding Jonnu and the underneath stuff. Most teams will probably be happy making Miami drive the field 10-12 plays at a time, but it will be interesting if teams change their strategy at all and adjust to Miami’s adjustment.

Primetime. On the road. Cold weather. Season on the line.

Under McDaniel (and Tua), Miami has flopped in these types of situations.

Let's see if this team's any tougher than those of the previous two years ...

I'm still stunned at how Ulbrich handled the end of regulation. How the Jets managed to leave time on the clock instead of kicking the game-winner as time expired was nothing short of a gift. Just ... wow.

That said, I'll take it.

I'm not sure this Miami team, as currently constituted, can actually win out. But, fuck it, I'll keep watching. I'm a glutton for punishment.

Miami sucks, Jets suck, Pats suck. Whatever led to Fangio not working out there is a problem. That D is awful.

That’s why the Jets are a losing football team this year. Even the back shoulder fade on third down to force Adams immediately out of bounds. Just brain dead situational football. Yes you want to get some yards back to make the kick easier, but the game is basically over if that’s a completion in the middle of the field or if Adams stays in bounds.

Tua and Jonnu continue to carry the offense. Jonnu went from one target in regulation to basically the entire offensive drive including the game winner in OT.

While Tua has probably had better stretches in his career statistically, this might be the best football I’ve seen him play. Playing within the offense, operating with precision, and avoiding the negative plays. He’s really been lights out since coming back into the lineup.

Tua's been unreal. If the offense could run the ball a little bit, especially in short-yardage situations, and the defense didn't resemble a wet paper towel, and Dolphins would be a true contender.

Tyreek is a twitter troll and posts things that are intentionally vague and opaque for the sake of engagement.

I think it’s certainly possible Miami moves on from Tyreek in the offseason, but I think it’s highly unlikely he retires to coach in any capacity after this year.
I think he just missed a comma.

I am curious: Is your coach on the hot seat? Do you think that he deserves another season?
I would say absolutely not. McDaniel made the playoffs in two straight years and Miami has finished the season relatively strong.

This season was derailed by Tua's injuries (again) and Miami's struggles to adapt to everyone playing deep two-high safeties.

Joe Schad on X:
Tyreek Hill just told a few local reporters he has to do what’s best for his career, whether it’s in Miami or elsewhere
Tyreek says lots of things. Miami would take a big dead cap hit for getting rid of Tyreek.

Not saying it won’t happen, but it’s unlikely.

Grier? That's legit surprising.
I truly think Grier has survived this long because he rubber stamps everything that the head coach wants.

I feel like I know what a Brian Flores team looks like and I know what a Mike McDaniel team looks like. I have no idea what a Chris Grier team looks like.

Miami needs to address the line on both sides of the ball. If they draft another 4.3 skill position player instead of a guard or a DT, I’ll die.
