Some early promotions...

TMac promoted to Worcester to fill the void left by everyone in Boston getting injured.

Decker activated from Dev list to replace him.

Fogell promoted to Greenville after a couple strong outtings.

O'Donnell replaces Fogell in Salem.

Alex Hoppe coming off the IL & in what I'm taking as a corresponding move, Cody Scroggins was promoted to Worcester.

Scroggins is a low-leverage arm who missed most of last season. He is already 27 & not really a high value prospect.

He pitched 2 scoreless innings in his 1 game for Portland this season, allowing 2 hits, no strikeouts or walks.

As an irrational Fraymi stan, him replacing Pierre on Salem's roster makes me very happy:

However, they made it pretty clear from his usage, mostly batting 9th in the FCL last year, they don't view him as a priority prospect. Hoping he changes that soon.

The 19 y/o had a 111 wRC+ in the FCL last year over 72 PAs. He played 2B, SS, 3B, CF & LF.

Salem also activated RHP CJ Weins, last year's way-underslot 6th round pick ($50k on a $320k slot).

Joe Jacques has a 15.75 ERA in 4 IP for Worcester this year... but hopefully he's more of an MLB pitcher?

Red Sox appear to have hit a critical mass of injuries already & it's only mid-April. If things continue on this trajectory, I hope they have enough healthy players to sell off & give me some more fun people to talk about in the system.

Max Carlson being promoted to Greenville to help with their pitcher shortage.

Kelvin Diaz, speedy OF who played in the FCL last year, heading to Salem. He is 21 & put up a 100 wRC+ last year with 21 streals in 25 attempts.

Not sure if Jhostynxon is injured, but he did come out of yesterday's game & isn't in the lineup today, so could be another reason to add OF depth.

They still would have Bleis, Yuten, Taylor & Tucker, but no harm adding Diaz.

Freili is heading to Salem & Daniel McElveny (who is actually a catcher) is too.

Not sure if these are fortification for some banged up Garcia brothers.

Max Carlson also headed back to Salem after 1 outting. Hopefully Greenville's pitching is getting healthy.

1 H and O R with 10 Knin 9 Worcester innings….but also, 8 walks. Feels like he’s up mostly because the other options aren’t great (Gutierrez or Uwasawa?) but hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity. Never know when it might be the last one.

Yeah, I'm guessing they'll bring up Uwasawa when they need a starter. The stuff has been pretty nasty, though, & he was coming off injury so there could be some rust in those walks.

Gutierrez has only pitched 1 inning since we acquired him & he walked 3 guys in that inning. He'll need some time.

Makes sense. I guess the silver lining here is the big league club is getting looks at a lot of different guys, for better or worse.

Yeah...I mean at some point you just have to lol about it & hope to continue moving forward in a positive direction toward '25.

Kwiat Assassin promotion makes sense. Joins other org filler like Karson Simas & Cody Scroggins there. Rough season for Worcester.

& Diaz back to FCL makes sense. He was only up due to Bleis, Jhostynxon & Tucker injuries, & the FCL Sox seem quite shorthanded in the OF.
