With all due respect Dave Roberts, step on their fucking throat. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
It seems the lack of a 4th Dodger starter, and using the pen for 4 innings last night, had the Dodgers coming in tonight on their back heels. Roberts already said postgame he won't use his best relievers unless ahead.

My concern if this score holds is that Flaherty has another super stinker like his last time in NY, then the narrative has flipped with an off day to stew over it. At least Yamamoto would be fully rested for a game 6, but letting Volpe & Wells get going isn't great.

I'm glad that Smoltz told me that NY doesn't want runners on based when Ohtani comes up. I never would've figured that out.

These announcers have some serious man-love for Judge. Gross.
What I hate about this style of commentary is that they are trying to set up storylines that hopefully will come true and pay off later. Like they're sports journalists. "Judge the Sleeping Giant" so Joe Davis has a call cued up if he finally hits one. It's a sports narrative speculation market and it's never calling the game in front of them.

Right. And that's the conundrum of TV sports broadcasting: we see the game! They really don't need to say anything! Maybe what the PA announcer would say if you were at the park. Even then, they'd juice it up: "Now up for the MFY, that stud of a man, (have we mentioned he's 6'-8"?), Aaron Judge."
