I can’t get over that decision from Viera. He saw the press stretch out his side and not even slow Liverpool in the least. He packs it in and Liverpool enjoy possession but far fewer chances. So, he turns it back on literally immediately concedes. What was he possibly thinking?

On the Palace goal … VVD slowed up to play the lead attacker (Mateta) offside …which he did, unfortunately the pass went to the other attacker (Edouard)
That one's more on Robertson than anyone else IMO - he's got eyes on Mateta should see that high line won't prevent the ball through to him, so he's got to get over and provide cover for Van Dijk. Instead he held his width and Mateta got in easily

I like Liverpool too, and would/will root for them in any other game and I'm happy they'll get closer to Man City (I think, I'm still new and not super sure how these standings work). But that was still bullshit
It was a soft penalty. I think the fact that the ball hit Jota on the back falling down and accelerated out of bounds may have contributed to giving it.

I chalk it up to karma of the 75,000,000 times it's been said the 3-0 to 3-3 comeback lost Liverpool the title, even though Liverpool still would have finished 2nd if they'd won 3-0.
