I thought penalty at full speed - keeper comes out and plays the man not the ball. Foul anywhere on the field. Keeper gets benefit of the doubt because Jota doesn't really control his touch around thebkeeper all that well, so I can see a play on decision. No doubt the awkward knee slide of the keeper takes Jota out of the play though, in slow motion though, you can see the questionable control. It's harsh but a penalty, and the 100's of slow motion, 100's of different angles just make it look more and more harsh.

Hopefully going to a back 4 opens up Chelsea's offense. They are getting nothing from the wingbacks since Chilwell and James went down.

Weird lineup for Spurs. No Reguilon, Lucas on the bench. Sessengon and Bergwijn start up top with Kane.

California. Duh.
I assume it's to help drainage, but the downhill slope and synthetic material so close to the sideline seems to increase the chance of someone getting injured by running out of control into the advertising boards.

Relegation-threatened Elche is up 2 against Real at the Bernabeu with 10 minutes to go.

EDIT:And as I post that, Real get a penalty to get to 1-2 in the 82nd.

Lukaku playing like he is carrying a piano. Had a Morata-esque whiff on what has been so far the best chance of the game.

... what?

Thiago up on his feet after the contact with Kane - if anything should be a second yellow for a dive. Can't believe that's been chalked off

Silva sliding forward like Rickey Henderson rules out Kane's goal, and now Bergwijn is hurt. Great sequence for Spurs.

Got to take Tanganga off at the half. Do not trust him to avoid a second yellow.

More contact there from Silva to create space than on the washed out Kane goal. Not going Spurs' way today

Man I’m sorry that Roy has to exchange his dignity for that piece of shit job (and club). Though it’ll make it a little more difficult to hate on Watford with him there.

Back to the VAR decisions on Sunday.
1. Turns out that the first one was on Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal was also quite wrong. I didn’t pick up on it at the time, but Firmino (clearly offside) draws Mitchell to him, giving Ox all the time and space to control the kick and shoot. Firmino wasn’t an innocent bystander either. He jumped for the ball and didn’t miss it by much. I have no idea what Will Hughes was doing, however.
2.Though I want refs to take the time to get it right, doesn’t taking that long sort of preclude a “clear and obvious” error (on the penalty decision)?
3. It was reported that Craig Pawson both showed Kevin Friend the video starting at the moment that Jota hit Guaita (ignoring the context of him changing direction to do so) and told him that he thought Jota would have been able to control the ball *and* score, but for the contact, which is absolutely ludicrous.
