Lauzon is the 9th D they’ve used, but 10th on the depth chart since Krug hasn’t played yet. I’m excited for this years “3rd for Holden because you can never have too many D” trade.

No changes up front, D shakes out as:

Chara - Carlo
Grzelyck- Moore
Lauzon - Kampfer

Cassidy said in his presser today that Tuukka is going on Saturday instead against Montreal because he(Cassidy) wanted that matchup.

I have been really impressed with the on-puck defensive effort so far this game. The B's are making it really hard to have the puck in possession for every Flyer.

Confused how the Bs ended up a man down there. Figured Simmonds would get 10 min misconduct too

For his first game, Lauzon had more positive moments than I expected, and less negative moments than I expected as well. He had good puck IQ and used his body well. Its obvious he's completely green, but playing gives him that experience. I think he has a shot to stay around though as long as the injury bug is felling people.

It wasn’t a great game at 5x5, but when you’re running out your 8-10 defensemen, you take what you can get. They lost the attempts, shots, scoring chances battle.

Donato had a smooth 20% CF (3 for; 12 against) in all of 6:40 TOI. He’s dangerous when he has the puck in the offensive end (hit the crossbar on his 1 shot at ES; banged another off the post on the PP), but he is useless everywhere else. I think a trip to Providence should be in the offing. He’s not a 4th liner, but they seemed to have settled on the 2nd and 3rd lines for now so here he is on the 4th. He really needs to work on his play away from the puck. He’s kind of like Bjork a year ago. Now Bjork is improved along the wall and stronger on the puck, but we’re just waiting for the offense to come (and I think it will).

Carlo has been a surprise this season. He’s playing well. He’s jumping up in the play and being more active in the offensive end. He’s shooting more too, 2.3 attempts per game which is up from the 1.8 he attempted last season. He’ll never be a Karlsson, but it’s be nice if he can contribute 20-25 points.

I am really shocked by how little Donato looks engaged. He's dangerous with the puck on his stick, but as you note he is terrible everywhere else. 20% CF is just downright awful. I agree he needs to probably spend the entire season down there. He's been terrible.

Bjork looks much stronger and confident. His scoring will come, but his time out last year really set him back a bit. I think that is why he's not scoring at the moment.

Really, they need a 3rd line center, but if they can figure that out, with their top two lines and a health D they should really challenge both Toronto and Tampa.
