So the Celtics should know that Poetl clogs the lane and protects the basket. They pick up an early foul on him, but don’t take the ball to the rim, iso him on switches with one of the Jays, or hit some threes with AL

It seems like the Spurs are happy to give up that corner Marcus three? Oomph.

This team is getting really, really hard to watch. Beating the Bucks without Giannis or Middleton, and then beating the Cavs with half their team missing, etc. made everyone believe they turned the corner. The next month could be really, really ugly.

Tatum wanting out and joining Beal in Washington would be quite a hilarious turnaround.

I’ll be in LA in ten days and plan on going to the Lakers and Clippers back to backs, but really don’t want to see this slop

I could be happy with all their ancillary talent in addition to their picks for the next ten years.

Given this putrid game, figured I would get lost in some stats.

3 PT shooting % is down so far this year across the league, but even accounting for that....Celtics have been very bad. I know it's early but it still has been worse than expected so far.

2017-2018: 37.7% (2nd)
2018-2019: 36.5% (7th)
2019-2020: 36.4 (13th)
2020-2021: 37.4% (10th)
2021-2022: 32.6% (25th)

Some notable outliers this year. None of those 5 are close to this bad, and the top 3 shoot a lot.

Tatum: 32.1% (8.7 Att)
Smart: 28.4% (4.9 Att)
Horford: 30.4% (4.3 Att)
Nesmith: 20.0% (2.2 Att)
Pritchard: 25.0% (1.6 Att)

On the good side:

Romeo: 44.8% (1.9 Att)
GWill: 40.9% (3.5 Att)

I don't see a path to the JT Experience ending in anything else but utter disaster. He's great but he also really, really sucks.

Smart is 2-10, but he has also got blocked/stripped at least twice so it is more like 2-12.
Getting blocked/stripped is way worse than missing a shot since it gives your opponent a free transition opportunity.

So more like 2-14.

If Marcus is shooting double digit shots less than 1.5 quarters into a game, this is usually how it goes. Granted, nobody else can hit anything anyway.

And now DS is down.

Spurs announcers started to panic when it got to 15. "We've seen this movie before," they go.

Bench is playing pretty well! 14 from Grant, Nesmith, Parker and Kanter.

I love how Nesmith hitting a jumper is some eye opening thing for Scal. I mean, it was a nice play but just shows how low the bar is.
