Happy for the win, but Kemba with another 25%-fg game and Kanter again being useless.

Over. Wow that was a nail biter. Tatum, Hayward and Theis were really good tonight.

C's showed some real grit there after falling behind 3. At that point, a double-digit loss wouldn't have shocked me.

Huge 3-pointer by Theis to tie the game.

Smart took a bunch of selfish shots tonight that only happen when a coach tells you that every shot is good. Of course he also hit the pivotal field goal late so what do I know. Still extremely worried about late execution on the court and sidelines. More and more it is clear that Hayward needs to be the primary ballhandler in these situations.

And Kemba. Trying to resist the inevitable narrative that he is struggling in part because he hasn’t played in an important game since UConn. But if it is just the knee, well, that sucks too. ASG was an inexcusable fuckup that someone should lose a job over.

Theis is a rock.

They really could use an adult in the room backup PG since Kemba is hurt and Wanamaker stinks. I like Waters but he's not ready for a playoff run.

I don't think Waters can play in the playoffs anyways while he's on a two-way contract.

I’m starting to get seriously frustrated with Smart. He has both Tatum and Hayward on the floor with 20+ and he dribbles the ball into the floor for 10 seconds then goes 1 v 4 into the paint. He got lucky he actually hit the shot like this at the end of the game, otherwise he is the absolute goat here. He should not be shooting off the dribble with those guys on the floor. Period. He is probably the teams best passer. Do that. All that said, he ended the night with 16 on 6 for 14. So not atrocious. But he also had 5 assists. Which I wish was 8. Also.. I don’t want to say it, but his defense hasn’t been what it once was, over the last month or so.

But how about Hayward! This team is so much better when he’s rolling. I love the guy.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer but blowing these leads and allowing a lot of non star players to score 40 and 51 points etc.... proves their backcourt defense is weaker and the blown leads show that they are not a challenger to win it all. Even with a healthy Jaylen back. I'm thrilled the year they are having after losing Kyrie, Horford, Morris, Rozier(a favorite of mine) and Baynes. If they get to the Eastern Finals I'll be surprised. Believe me I'd love to be wrong and eat crow.
