I'll give this thing a shot.

I'm watching more hockey these days than I can remember. My 6yo is wrapped up in everything Bruins right now. We watch the first period together before he goes to bed. I record Bruins in 2 (when available) and we watch the rest together before school (even though I've already watched it...) It's been a great bonding experience. He then checks the out of town scoreboard on his tablet while getting ready for school.

This morning he leaves for school and says, "I think they'll still make the playoffs." I told him if they do, I'll take him to his first playoff game, school night or not. Two points tonight would get us that much closer.

Lets hope it's 5 on 5 tonight and they can find that step they need at home.

I can't believe Claude hasn't reached a breaking point yet with the officiating the Bruins receive. There is no explanation for their differential. They've been one of the best possession teams in the league over the last 5 season, yet can't draw a penalties. Does not compute.

Today's a day of charts. I saw this one floating around Twitter too.

That doesn't look like the same team that dominated 5-on-5 for the previous 5 seasons.

The funny thing is that, despite drawing roughly infinity more penalties than anyone else in the league, Montreal is only 35-40 penalties ahead of even in differential. Meaning they have taken probably the most penalties in the league.

I guess diving encourages lazy play all around.

The lack of internet-sourced mathematical models about how much Tim Peel sucks is a national disgrace to both the US and Canada.

Maybe the problem isn't that the internet hasn't made said models, but that said said models simply cannot be made, as Tim Peel's suckitude is far too large to quantify on a plane as small as the internet.

Looks like it dips slightly in the off-season. Which I highly doubt. I'd want to see the data driving this chart during that time. I'm sure his family would comment.

Some line juggling here

Marchand - Bergeron - Stempniak
Beleskey - Krejci - Pastrnak
Vatrano - Spooner - Eriksson
Connolly - Acciari - Hayes
