Between here and everywhere.
The Garden was just playing a track off of the new Menzingers album (Lookers).

They might have one of the best in-rink sound tracks of anywhere in the NHL.

Dylan Larkin. I'm wondering if the third period might get chippy or whether the Wings will continue to try to avoid anything hockey-related.

I was thinking the same thing but the Wings don't really have any fighters.

Pierre was advocating for that embellishment, the brilliant refs must have heard him.

ALL HAIL THE CASSIDY ERA!
Can you more experienced folk explain this? Or make a main board thread? Are they playing different hockey? Just playing inspired under the 'new guy'?

Announcers keep talking about the D being more aggressive but it is hard to see on TV (esp when can only watch national games). Also can years of tendencies be over ridden that fast? (eg stay home on the point vs get aggressive and pinch down now)

We talked a little bit about this a couple of weeks ago, here: http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?threads/2-23-bs-kings.18072/page-4#post-2155704

Stop talking about the fucking Hawks. Christ, it's bad enough that they're on tv every other game.

Red Wings brought absolutely nothing tonight and are quietly taking their beating.

We're on to the Flyers.

If you haven't listened to the Spittin' Chicklets episode with Colby Armstrong, it's well worth it. I've been laughing for months over his fighting story.

"Holy fuck Army, check the game notes bud!"
Holy fuck Red Wings, check the game notes bud!

That loss by Detroit should be the nail in the coffin for their playoff chances and end their streak at 25 seasons. The Bruins streak of making the playoffs for 29 straight seasons will remain intact (67-68 thru 95-96).
Interesting note is if the Habs had made the playoffs in 69-70, they would have had a streak of 46 straight seasons. Ha - fuck them!

69-70 was the year the Rangers knocked MTL out by scoring a lot of goals in the final game of the season to win a tie breaker. I was 9, the game was on national TV, and it remains one of the strangest hockey games I've ever seen. The Rangers even pulled their goalie once they got ahead to try and pile up the goals.

Cassidy wasn't sure who would replace Schaller, Beleskey or Cehlarik. Guessing Beleskey is in, he's a better 4th line fit.
