Anyone check this out yet? Many people think this Dunbar team is the greatest basketball team ever assembled. Premiered last night; I have to DVR it so I can watch it. I guess the next showing is 10:00 p.m. tonight on ESPN2.

I understand that Reggie Lewis is given a good amount of time, particularly his life after Dunbar.

Also there's a book that chronicles Dunbar and I understand the author was part of the 30-30 show. http://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Boys-of-Dunbar/Alejandro-Danois/9781451666977

From everything I've heard, it's highly recommended. Some twitter reactions are compiled here: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/high-school/bs-md-baltimore-boys-reaction-20170809-story.html

I caught some last night. Good stuff. There was a cool section on describing Muggsy Bogues' 360 alley-oop pass and how the game had to be stopped so everyone could digest how awesome it was. Also Reggie Williams is high on the list of great high school talent who proceeded to get worse with every level after that. Bogues would be a terror in today's space and 3 NBA.

There is also a good one on the Morningside 5 led by USC star Stais Boseman. I never understood how he was never able to find a niche in the NBA and Bruce Bowen could.

I have gotten to know Sean Tyson, a Dunbar grad, played at Clemson. He is loathe to discuss his pat, but what he has told me it was a very hard path to get from Baltimore to college.

A few years later at a tournament in Vegas some kids were about to get in a scrap in the hotel hallway. Trash talk from two teams had gotten out of control. I always joke that as a teacher and coach I bore kids into not fighting, but inserting non sequitur often helps. One team was from Baltimore, and my assessment they were about to f*** up these kids from San Jose. "Hey Baltimore! you guys know Sean Tyson from Dunbar, played at Clemson?" Nobody did but they all started staring at this white guy from Canada. I explained where I knew Sean from that he was living in Canada. The fellas went in a room and got this kid playing X-box who was bragging about his uncle that now lived in Canada, turned out he was was Sean's nephew. The kids from San Jose after hearing "Baltimore" were looking for an excuse to exit, and took it. Man you coud see those kids wanted to be players so much, but they were used to sticking up for themselves.
