Kind of amazingly, tonight marks aTorey Krug's first game back in Boston since signing with STL.

No Lindholm, Pasta or Grzelyck. Lindholm and Pasta did skate this morning. Hopefully they are back soon but there is no need to rush it. Butch said Thursday was a possibility for Grz, which is encourating.

Marchand - Bergeron - DeBrusk
Hall - Haula - McLaughlin
Frederic - Coyle - Smith
Foligno - Nosek - Lazar

Forbort - McAvoy
Reilly - Carlo
Clifton - Brown

The Blues are 21st in overall expected goals percentage (47.6%) yet 6th in actual goals percentage, leading the league in goal differential above expected with an astounding +43.55. Let's bring that number down tonight.

I think that they clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight.
Close - if I'm looking at this right, the Islanders max out at 97 points (B's are currently at 95) but you have to take into account potential RW/ROW tiebreakers. So the Bruins will punch their ticket tonight if they win and the Isles lose in any fashion.

Not sure if I've ever seen two goals in the first minute of a game before and I've been watching for almost 45 years.

Nah... the crosscheck won't get called for the afterwork by the Blues... it never is when it's on a Bruin

no crosscheck there when that puck was loose?

JESUS CHRIST, THE NHL IS NOT OUT TO GET THE BRUINS!! EVERY FUCKING GAME THREAD WITH THE WHINING ABOUT THE REFS AND NO ACKNOWLEDGMENT WHEN BOSTON GETS A BREAK. EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GAME THREAD.

THERE ARE ACTUAL INSTANCES WHEN THEY GET SCREWED (ESPECIALLY REGARDING MARCHAND), BUT THEY'RE RENDERED INVISIBLE BY THE CONSTANT BARRAGE OF COMPLAINTS ON EVERY. FUCKING. CALL.

THIS ISN'T 1979. THE NHL HAS NO INTEREST IN SEEING BOSTON FAIL, IF THEY EVER DID. PLEASE STOP WITH EVERY QUESTIONABLE CALL. Please.

Point taken, but in Cotillion’s defense, the Bruins got royally fucked against St. Louis. Objectively fucked. Royally.

To the point that my St. Louis fan-friends readily admitted that Game 5 was really hard to feel good about and the trend-line of the PP/PKs shifted radically after Berube shamelessly whined.

That series alone is cause for some PTSD on the subject. I know I still have some.

I get that whining about the refs is repetitive, but the Bruins are 5th in Corsi% and yet are 27th in percentage of penalty minutes taken. Carolina probably has the claim to being the most screwed however - dead last in PIM taken percentage while being 2nd in Corsi%.

That’s absolutely fair, and this may not be the best opponent against whom to make my particular point, but Boston got away with a fair amount vs Vancouver as well. Maybe not enough to balance the scales, but still.

It’s just gotten tiresome and interferes with the great nuggets that cshea, napkin and others add during the games

Shake your head and smirk Bruce. No need to say anything. Gotta keep your voice so you can call out your players later.
