In honor of the expectations many here seem to have about this team...and the numbness it has evoked in most of us while watching it so far.

Have at it, Negative Nellies!

I'll get you started: it's Sandoval vs. Houck, so do we have a shot? Sure, if you're talking about the same one Lincoln got from JWB on this date in 1865.

Pile on!

Wow. What a way to start a game thread…on so many levels. Lincoln? On Wall Street, they say the time to buy is when there is blood on the streets. Well, I think we got blood on the streets here. Wish the team were better, but go Sox. No exclamation point, just a period.

Game 14
The season so far could make a man weep.
Bucs, Tigers, Rays with each series a sweep.
(Two out of three had us on the wrong side.)
We’ve returned home. Let the sweeping streak ride!
The Angels may have Otani and Trout
But we’ve got… … draft picks to daydream about?
Yet, I’m Fenway faithful. I still believe.
(Or maybe I’m just confused or naïve.)
Just sweep the Angels so that we can say…
we’re still in the race on Patriot’s Day.

Can't help but feel good about at least getting out of the Trop. Great game to reset and move forward.

First game of the season on Apple+, can't decide yet if I'm glad I have access to it or if I'd be better off without.

There is a party. Everyone is there. Everyone will leave at exactly the same time.

This is just a brutal, brutal stretch of games for a flawed team that was probably hoping to be somewhere above mediocre coming into the season. Starting the season with 1 day off in the first 27 days is just awful. Add in that the middle of the stretch has them facing 4 straight 1st place team (a couple who may be smoke and mirrors, but are playing well), and this could easily get worse than it already is.

I still like this team, and think they will end up in the Wild Card mix on the season, but I readily admit it has been hard to watch the beginning of this season unfold.

Here's to a reverse lock tonight.

Surprised Dalbec isn’t in there with the LH starter. Sandoval is pretty tough on lefties; guess the hope is to get Casas going but this doesn’t seem like a great matchup for him.

Should have sat Raffy tonight and played him yesterday but apparently Cora has been reading SoSH and put him in the lineup tonight.

We need to score some runs and our sub .200 hitters are not filling me with confidence. Baseball is a funny game; reverse lock in play!

If they wanted to give Raffy a rest, seems like a good opportunity to DH him, play Turner at third, and Dalbec at 1b. But, glad he’s in there.

Really would like to see a starter get into and finish 6 innings. Any starter.
There's been a start or two so far that easily could have. Probably should have, even. But Cora pulled them for 'manager's decision ' type reasons, I guess.

Still using the Chargers unis? I know, I know, marathon weekend and all, but these things are a pastel eyesore.

Yeah, I’m going negative for a night.

I wanted to write about my cogent analysis that this team sucks for a while now and it’s only coincidence I waited until they got swept on the road.

meb keflezighi threw out the first ball. Felt forearm tightness. Damn Cora.

Ok They look like freakin’ bananas. That’s all I got.

Bloom is basically Sideshow Bob stepping on rakes if the rakes were John Henry's $200 million and the fans are Sideshow Bob's face.
