They have to make that play reviewable. Imagine that in a postseason game. Horrible.

I feel like Colome has been pitching forever, but he's only 32. I guess it's just the many, many Sox-Rays games that make him feel like an old timer.

If he says that to the manager I'd imagine the other umps are put in a tough spot if they do think it was the wrong call.
Are we sure he was admitting he blew the call saying that? Or was he boasting that he got it right and video replay (if allowed) would back him up?

Cora's reaction wasn't one you'd expect if the ump admitted fault. Especially when he then went to the others for help.

Fuckin' dude. Game of inches. I thought he was dust based on the timing of the TV shots, and he barely, barely beat the throw

He was saying he 100% got it right, for sure wasn’t admitting any fault

This play and the one last inning illustrate eveything wrong with the replay system.

- Egregiously blown foul tip call? Not reviewable.

- Guys slides into 2nd? Let's stand around for a few minutes while we watch at 1/100th speed whether his toe came a millimeter off the bag.

I took it as he was sure he got the call right and there's no way any of the other umps had a better view to be able to overturn the call.

They are trying as hard as they can to find one tiny fraction of a split second where his foot may have come off the bag. This isn't what replay should be about.
