No lineup changes tonight other than Swayman in net. Vladar is going to backup. Rask is fine but they are giving him the full day off. He should be back in net on Sunday. Miller is day-to-day. Carlo is still week-to-week. Grz is "progressing."

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Hall - Krejci - Smith
Ritchie - Coyle - DeBrusk
Kuraly - Lazar - Wagner

Lauzon - McAvoy
Reilly - Clifton
Zboril - Kampfer

Swayman
Vladar

Aw, thought we might Frederic back in there.
Me too, but the 52-20-14 line has been really good through 2 games so they probably want to let it ride for a bit and see if it sticks. So far, that line is getting only 16% o zone starts but have a 11-8 shot advantage, 11-5 scoring chance advantage and an 5-1 high danger scoring chance advantage over their opponents. Hard to take someone out after such a performance. Bruce has been a little hard on Kuraly lately so I think we'll see him out for Freddy at some point but not just yet.

I agree that it's probably to not mess with success, so to speak, by breaking up that line (or any line), but I have to think a Frederic for Kuraly swap is inevitable and that Frederic would make that line even better. They probably want Lazar to have some continuity too while he adjusts to his new team.

Also, it's really nice that they have some depth now, both amongst the forwards and on D (and in net! Four bona fide goaltenders.).

It's one game, but the down-roster effects from the Hall trade may have really boosted the Coyle line. Their stats from last night:

14-5 Corsi, 10-3 scoring chances, 4-0 HDCF, 0.73-0.09 expected goals

Hoping that they can replicate that effort reliably going forward. Perhaps DeBrusk is ready for one of his trademarked tears.

right here
Kind of a disjointed period and I was going to be happy getting out of there tied. Ahead? Bonus!

Unable to watch here, but the numbers for that period look good:

16-9 Corsi
8-5 scoring chances
5-1 high-danger
1.01-0.31 expected goals

With two ELC goalies next year they should have no problems keeping him and Hall.
Good. There is just something about his game I love. He's just so decisive and if he has even the smallest lane he shoots. Like Marchand's "goal" that he just unloaded from the point that deflected a couple times then in. Even if the puck is not reaching net its creating chaos and opportunities. And he seems to be solid on D too. Few games yeah I know but still loving watching him skate and my goalie brain hasn't snapped at him yet

So its goodbye Tuukka? Too early on Hall who knows how much money he wants. Krejci is the wild card there.
Either Tuukka comes back on a 1-2 year deal on reasonable or he retires. He’s said he won’t play anywhere else. Both scenarios are good for the B’s.

Not sure that Tuukka wants to come back, and I'm pretty confident that the Bs don't want to pay him anywhere near $8M a year, especially with two young inexpensive goalies in the fold.

Anyone in this thread could have converted that pass from Krejci.
I think you’re greatly underestimating how hard it is to score at this level. Also it’s probably no coincidence that Krejci looks like Krejci again now that he has a guy like Hall on his wing and they’re seeing a lot of 2nd D pairs.
