If the laundry had been reversed in that game I think I would be completely apoplectic.

I mean, Jesus, we sort of dodge a bullet/ Toronto blew it/ the Bruins shot like savants tonight/part of me can't believe the Leafs did not put another one in at 2-1.

wow that was some fun hockey to watch.

Cassidy: “Julian Edelman chugging a beer was awesome. Got everyone fired up, including us. We’ll repay the favor somewhere down the road.”
I must have missed this. Did they even show it on TV? I found the video online - pretty funny.

So, here comes some fun. I think the Toronto/Canadian media is going to put Babcock on the hot seat.

Mind you, that’s not the same as him actually being on the hot seat, but the piranhas have been circling.
Best coach in league history who hasn’t gotten out of the first round for 5 years. Team #insiderrrr

Unreal 3rd period. What a performance.

I’m drinking and will continue to do so. I don’t care that it is a Tuesday, the Boston Bruins have eliminates the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bring on Columbus.

What a game. Survived the first with a two goal lead, somehow. Butt clenched the entire second. DOMINATED the third. Tuukka standing on his head all night. I don't know how a few of those just didn't bounce in. Quick turnaround, lets keep it rolling.

GodDAMN that Kuraly snipe was gorgeous.
for me the part that made me sit up like i'd been hit by lightning was him skating through literally four opposing players. Like, he didn't just beat his man, he skated right through or around an entire NHL team, and then from an open position, shot a bullseye.

I watched this game while on a first date with my future wife. Stick a pin in that s*** and smoke it to sleep, compadres.

I haven't watched enough of the B's this year, but good lord, Tuukka. His positioning, anticipation, reflexes... He plays percentages with his angles and forces his opponents to beat him with tough shots. It's clinical to watch.

God damn, that save on Matthews 4 minutes in.... and then on Marner 5 minutes later. That may have been Tuukka's best playoff game since 2013. He was absolutely incredible last night.

I think Rask gets underrated/over-criticized because his great saves rarely *look* spectacular. Sort of like JBJ (or maybe JD Drew).

And the Bruins were turning the puck over all over the place for the first two periods and Tuukka bailed them out, again and again.

His haters can suck it.

I think there's something to that. That said, he can occasionally hit big grand slams make sprawling, athletic saves, like this guy:

I was at that game. I couldn't believe he made that save. We actually didn't appreciate it as a crowd because there was no way he actually saved it and Grier must have missed. Miller had some equally incredible ones at the other end too.

I used to do T&A + scheduling (time and attendance, pervs) work with a group whose main support office is based in Toronto. I am still in touch with most of them- so this has been an enjoyable morning.

And as others have said, Carlo's impact can't be overstated. The Moore-Grzelcyk pair gave me the runs. McAvoy was merely OK in Game 7 . Chara was great at the relatively narrow range of things he's still great at. And Krug sort of held his own.. But even that was because he was paired with the beastly Carlo. It seemed he made every single play every chance he had.

I disagree about Chara, especially on his clears. There had to be about 5 times where he tossed it up the boards right into a guys skates or chest. He did it once after the Too Many Men penalty where he had time and space and decided to use it to throw it into someone's chest. Not impressed with his performance last night.

When he doesn’t work too hard, his quips can be anywhere from funny to fistpump-worthy. When he’s clearly trying, it’s straight cringe.

This was the former.

Yep. We’d be apoplectic if Cassidy ran Backes out as much as Babcock sent Marleau’s corpse over the boards.
