1. Let's not one blip stop us from using the Hall theme that helped reel off several straight wins in a row.

2. Just to piss Napkin off.

Bs at Pittsburgh today at 3:00 ET.

I know it worked out but I always hate it when my D or wings try to block pucks with sticks that I have a clean line on like Coyle just did

Pens are getting away with some wholesale interference. Can't wait for that standard to suddenly change going the other way.

So uh....do we have a goalie thing?
Feels like Bledsoe/Brady again, but I think that they have to go with Tuukka if/when he's 100%.

EDIT: Because it would be better to go to Swayman if Rask fails in the playoffs than vice versa.

Definitely have an off season decision to make. I know I would be comfortable with a Swayman/Vladar tandem on ELCs, and using the $8 million in cap space to upgrade the rest of the roster.

I don't think that they're going to offer Rask a contract.

As wrong as it is, and they'd never publicly admit this, but I think "old-schoolers" Sweeney and Neely hold it against Rask for bailing out of the play-offs last year. Ot at least I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Between here and everywhere.
I'm not even talking about next year, I mean this year.

Putting Rask in against Buffalo, a garbage awful team - and giving Swayman the primetime national TV Sunday game against a potential first round opponent?

Well, Swayman played the night before.

You could be on to something.

I think it’ll just be strictly business and cap space moving forward making that decision. There hasn’t even been a hint that anyone high up in the organization holds anything against Rask.

And Halak was the backup. Why not give him the start so Rask could play this game?
Give Rask an extra day between games and so that he didn't play 3 games in 6 days? (He played last Sunday and last Tuesday.)

So you'd rather burn Rask on games against a bottom feeder like Buffalo, and not against an actual contender?

You don't think that's just a little weird?
I'm assuming since he isn't even dressed today, he's still nowhere near full health. Don't think there's more to it than that.

From The Google. Seems overly generous.

“A scoring chance is defined as a clear play directed toward the opposing net from a dangerous scoring area – loosely defined as the top of the circle in and inside the faceoff dots, though sometimes slightly more generous than that depending on the amount of immediately-preceding puck movement or screens in front of the net. Blocked shots are generally not included but missed shots are. A player is awarded a scoring chance anytime he is on the ice and someone from either team has a chance to score. He is awarded a “chance for” if someone on his team has a chance to score and a “chance against” if the opposing team has a chance to score.”

Edit: whoops wrong post.

If they prioritized keeping Rask healthy over optimizing opponent match-ups, I could see why they decided to give him an extra day of rest. Maybe he even requested the extra day of rest.

Which - if true, is even more insane.

You bring him back when he's not 100% to play BUFFALO? When you could...you know, just keep resting him as the 3 backups have all performed really well this year?

And maybe they want Swayman to get some experience against better teams in national games in case he's needed in the playoffs.

True. Who knows, he could have tweaked something during the Buffalo game as well, but total speculation there. It just seems like he's going to be managing his health the rest of the way through regardless...difficult balance between staying healthy and staying sharp.

Bs are up 6 points on the Rangers with 20 more points possible for the Bs and 16 for the Rangers. Would be really nice to win the third period and pick up 2 more points today.

I'm trying to figure out of Pittsburgh is getting the benefit of being allowed to be in tight and interfere as Salem's Lot is saying, or if the Bruins are just a touch behind on the aggressiveness.

Also does it look like Marchand/Pasta are fighting the puck a bit, or just the pressure on Pittsburg.

Edit: was just going to say that the Penguins are forechecking well. Damn goal.
