Turnstiles at Selhurst thought it was on holiday, so there is a delayed start to AFC Richmond Palace-West Ham. Couldn't start with just the away stands filled

These WHU kits look like something a beer league team would buy because they’re on clearance and stupidly cheap.

If Zaha wasn’t such an unrepentant whiner that showed up referees for a living a bet he gets that call.

I can’t even tell who that came off of last. A clusterfuck but a goal nonetheless.

And that's the final from Selhurst, 4-3 Palace. I know it has a lot to do with the change in strength of schedule but they've just looked so much better, especially offensively since Roy took over as manager. Now at 40 points, no longer in 12th place for the first time in I couldn't even tell you how long, clearly safe from relegation. Perplexingly ahead of Chelsea which if you had said that was going to happen a year or two ago...

I forgot the game was on and checked to see what the score was on the early game. I *thought* Palace was playing tomorrow. Bummed I missed most of that.

What was with +6 stoppage time turning into 9?

That was a fun match. Looked like Benrahma had someone else's boots on towards the end.

Another year in the Prem for Palace. Chuffed for them.

You're going to love him when he signs for Liverpool ;)
I’ll take the barb, but he’s not far off what Diaz and Nunez were before they arrived. Some force there doesn’t deal well with his antics.

WHU can feel hard done by. The deciding goal was an absolute howler by Pawson and VAR.

Chelsea's season is really unfathomably bad. Spurs are having an awful, burn the videotape style-season, and are now on their third manager and are going to need a long rebuild, and yet they are still 15 points ahead of Chelsea.

@Arsenal
@Bournemouth
Nottingham
@Man City
@Man Utd
Newcastle

they have an outside shot at getting 0 points the rest of the way, and 3 or 4 seems very possible

Forest fans will be shattered. Trying to see the game out and get three huge points away from home. They couldn't even hold on for a point at Brentford. The first goal they conceded was a Toney free kick that went through a gap in the wall that one of the Forest players kindly vacated. It was all Brentford after that. To be fair it was all Brentford before that. The second Brentford goal was a VAR offside/onside who the fuck knows one, but Zeus was never gonna smile on Forest.

Steve Cooper has a face that will never look happy in the conventional sense. He does have a face that personifies utter dejection. I feel for him. But Everton, Leeds and Leicester fans have a little more spring in the step. Until they get shown up.

I'd love to know the preseason odds on them finishing as the worst Prem club in London.

I watch him every week. And I get how his reactions can rub people the wrong way. But he’s consistently the most fouled player in the league, and usually by a pretty large margin. You see him get fouled when they’re playing Liverpool (or they’re the only game on) and probably not much more than that. Teams towards the bottom of the table do rotational fouling on him all game. Watford, for example, was notorious for that. I would be annoyed if I got kicked as often as he does, too.

Yesssssss Schalke

Although now I have to engage in the soul destroying pastime of wanting BVB to win.

The hope I have as an Everton fan is that these other sides have the capacity to suck even worse.

Of course it’s the hope that kills you.

Mate, I spent my bus journey from Glasgow to Pittenweem reading the Grand Old Team forums. It was enlightening. i got a much better idea of the range of views regarding: when the rot started to set in; the various wrong turns the board has taken; who's to blame etc. I didn't realize how many fans seem ok with relegation as a way of cleaning the decks and starting fresh.

i hope they stay up too...but they can't go on like this. At the end of the day, the footie they play is dreadful, and that's not down to one single manager.

A chip butty for you if you could pick me out there, I post there a lot.

Agree with all except relegation is not a reset button- we have way too much debt and payroll to survive with the lower Championship revenues and a stadium under construction. I really worry that the club will die.

Robbie Mustoe continues to take digs at Scott Parker. Refused to say his name when complementing the job Gary O'Neil has done since taking over

Bournemouth 2-0 Leeds already. 5 wins from last 8 for Cherries. MCI AVL BOU in that order are the form sides in the league. Amazing.

I can believe the Toffees doing better than Southampton and Leeds and it’s not a stretch.

Old Firm matches are so much more enjoyable with two set of fans. Celtic have been the better team, desrve to be in the lead, but Rangers have been decent too.

I can see Rangers scoring...but Celtic have goals in them too. The ref's letting a lot go, which i don't mind...i like a bit of blood and guts.

Why? Did he kick Parker’s dog?
they were former teammates at Boro. idk I just notice that he doesn't have nice things to say about Parker, even when Rebecca tees it up for him

OTOH Rafa Benitez is a studio analyst on MAtchday Live, which you can watch on Peacock's Goal Rush stream

Napoli finally score to go up 1-0 in what could be the clincher and the stadium and streets around it are going nuts. I’m neutral when it comes to Serie A but this is pretty cool to watch

And it’s tied in Napoli and the stadium is quiet. I shouldn’t have watched this on the day of a game 7
