A ROW means first place.
ROW sounds like Roe.
Roe is caviar.
Caviar goes with champagne.
Champagne goes to the champians(sic).

Win today.

A Sunday night game? Fun.

You would *think* the Panthers just want to get the hell out of town. Score early.

As a fanatical Bruins fan from 1969-1981 who now only watches during the playoffs, as NOTHING is as incredible as playoff NHL hockey, does winning the first seed with a win tonight make a HUGE difference in the eyes and opinions of you all? Thanks.

Yes. Toronto is a much better club than New Jersey. It won't be easy to beat New Jersey, playoff series are never easy to win, but there is a better chance of a short series win vs them. Whoever plays Toronto is in for a 7 game slugfest win or lose. It's better that Tampa deals with that.

Brookline
Per Fluto, Backes at RW on second line with Krejci and DeBrusk. Donato centers Heinen and Gionta.

I like Backes with Krejci.

Thanks Salem for the feedback. I am an expert on Orr Sanderson Smith Hodges Bucyk Cashman Cheevers etc, but dont have any irons in the fire anymore, so one more question. Are the Bruins good enough this year to go deep in the playoffs? Thanks again.

Sir, they can go all the way with this squad. Health, puck luck, and on point goaltending leaves them among the very best. Have to execute and put everything in motion but I'd say, buckle up.

I think the Bruins are likely high on the list of teams no one wants to face. Their top line is as good as any in the game and they are solid through all 4 lines which means they can grind some teams down if they need to. Finally, when it is on, their PP can be deadly and efficient. That said...

I think my biggest reservations are Rask playing at a high level and the quantity of youth they have running through their lineup. Sometimes the bright lights, and heavy hitting is too much for the young ones in their first go round.

I'm cautiously optimistic for a deep run.

To add to the chorus, absolutely. They're a top 5 team in both goals for (okay, they're just barely 6th right now) and goals allowed, as well as a top 5 team in both PP and PK. They're insanely deep and the whole squad's possession numbers are at least good if not outstanding. They have a goalie who, when on, can absolutely steal games. There's a reason why this team was destroying the league for a couple of months when they were all healthy. And they appear to be in good shape for starting the playoffs. (Please no injuries today.)

That's not to say they're invulnerable. They can get over-aggressive and have had lapses at times. The young and bottom-pairing defensemen can be susceptible in their own zone. But there really isn't a single point of failure on this team - unlike last year, where they lived and died by the output of the Bergeron line. It was very rare this year for this team, when mostly healthy, to be completely out of a game. That said, they have two divisional rivals who are also very good teams, and hopefully as of today's result they will get to miss one of them. This may be the hardest path to the ECF ever.
