Leeds up early on Newcastle. Wilson and Isak both up top is not working. Not enough support to get them the ball, the passing is poor.

wow.Pipe saves pen from Bamford to keep it 1-0

Having to root for Diego Costa for the next 2 hours doesn’t feel great but I gotta do what I gotta do in hopes Liverpool get that top 4 spot

I was going to turn this on but in solidarity with you, I won’t turn it on and jinx anything. Keep those beer showers going.
Hahaha thank you! My cardiologist appreciates how this game has gone.

Edit: assuming this games ends like this, I’m trying to decide if I should wash my beer-soaked shirt or not.

Wash the shirt but you need to wear for the last two games and douse yourself in beer if necessary during those games. This coming from the guy who still blames his mom for taking a Red Sox pennant off the fireplace mantle after game 5 of the 86 World Series.

The first Champions League song has started. I’m still a Red Sox fan of a certain age. I’m not participating yet.

Brutal half for Spurs. Absolutely zero connective play, with Villa easily controlling possession. The only times they've been able to string together a few passes, they are offside.

Mark Kane and there is no creativity whatsoever.

I am shocked, shocked that this team is not motivated to fight for an interim manager nor qualify for the Europa Conference League.

Oof. Out of nothing, Spurs have a golden chance to level the game and Kane hits it straight at Martinez.

Chelsea Forest 2-2. If you ever wanted to see what a professional footy match would look like without coaches this is it. No evidence of a plan or scheme or discipline from either side, 22 dudes free ballin’

That's a decent point for Forest. Arsenal up next for them, which is not so good, but their final match is away at Palace. A point at Palace might see them safe.

California. Duh.
Notts County was down very early but managed to equalize with a couple minutes left to send it to extra time. Chesterfield took the lead back 3 minutes after the restart. 2-1 now, still in the first half of ET.

And it's down to a penalty shootout to get into the EFL.

Notts County wins the shootout 4-3 to join Wrexham in League Two. Crazy drama.

Leeds and Forest both get a point against tough competition. Both games could easily have gone either way, both had the lead at one juncture, so it’s do you cherish the one point or rue the three. Probably both.

Southampton are officially relegated.

2 of Leicester Forest Everton Leeds will stay up and two will go down. I think Leicester is dead. fivethirtyeight has up to the minute odds, LEI relegated 71%, LEE 70%, NFO 32%, EVE 26%. Obviously that changes with every result. It tracks with the eyetest- I’ve seen most of these games. NFO is the wild card. To get 3 points you must score goals and they can but they have no discipline whatsoever.

So far Everton holding their shape quite well out of possession. They need to make better use of what little ball they are gonna get. If they can stay in the match, who knows, maybe Calvert Lewis gets a goal, I think he's due one.
