Kenley can't control the cutter right now unless it's 93mph or lower. Didn't solve anything that outing.

Water.

See? Y’all need to relax. Now I’m gonna go play Xbox while cheap beer and the satisfaction of victory keeps me warm.

I hate that it’s somehow baseball taboo to let a guy work through something in some low leverage situations

using Jansen just now clearly put the game and a great outing by sale at risk

Couldn't agree more. You have a responsibility to the other 25 guys to win the game, not coddle the ego of some annointed "closer".

The ridiculous competitiveness of the AL east also makes it harder to take the long view and let guys worth thru stuff in key spots

There was no way in hell that Jansen wasn’t going to close tonight. As long as he’s active, he’s getting the save opportunities. It’s valid not to like it but that’s his job and I imagine it’ll take quite a bit for him to lose it.

Call me crazy, but I think it should be a meritocracy. The person best-suited to get the job done should do it. I know, I'm nutty that way.
