We got this. We're starting to figure out Jimmy.

Most of you guys are awful front runners. The definition of a fair weather fan.

Boston gets the rebound with 26 seconds left. Why is Brown shooting with 9 seconds left on the shot clock?

How hard is it to give Miami credit? They look (and have been) MILES better. This isn't Joe, this isn't whistles. I hate it as much as anyone but the truth isn't about dicking around happy joy feelings. It's reality.
They’ve been playing great but there’s still no universe in which this Celtics team should be staring down the barrel of 0-3.

Brown seems to be completely one dimensional, and when he can't score, he's zero dimensional.
He's not even going to the hole at the moment.. usually if his shot isn't going he at least takes it to the hoop.

That's kind of the point.

All most of us are asking for from Joe is the bare minimum you see from a good NBA coach.
You’re going to get a lot of push back from a few posters from what exactly bare minimum is. Their position will be that there actually is no bare minimum and coaches actually matter 0 and could be replaced by cardboard cutouts

Regardless of sosh vs sosh drama about who has been shitting on JB and who hasn't, the dude is absolutely a liability right now. He wants to be the star so bad and is just throwing up airballs.
Yep. And so is the coach, who is overmatched beyond measure almost. They've basically all been horrible other than Q1-3 Tatum.

The one guy that seemed to be consistently hustling on the boards and bringing it on defense is Robert Williams. He was rewarded with 4 minutes of playing time by Mazzulla:(

But, the other team wants to win too? Maybe they’re defending him and it’s not wanting to be a star?

Celts get called for reaching in. Heat are coached to be "handsy" strip the Celts again and again and seldom get called.

Is what it is.

But probably doesn't mean shit tonight.
Lowry and Martin are all over Tatum's arms every time he goes to the hole.. They did the same thing last year too.

I would certainly think that anyone who isn’t a Celtics fan watching this is almost certainly saying “boy, Miami looks good.”

Miami has lost three games in the playoffs. They are a really tough out. They are making things really hard on both ends of the floor. The Celtics aren’t wilting just because. They are wilting because they are getting punched in the mouth. Hard.

Do they respond well to pressure? No. But the Heat have been the better team on both ends through 10 quarters.

This team does not need another scorer. That cannot be an excuse. They have the Sixth Man of the Year and White, who might have won it himself had Smart not been injured. And Williams off the bench! Miami is scoring with Caleb fucking Martin and Duncan Robinson ffs.
I mean… this is a guy who is 2nd team all NBA. This team is designed around him being a reliable second scorer. He is either hurt or the Heat have him spooked. For everyone’s sake you almost hope it’s the former because if he continues to melt down with repeated mistakes in big moments then it’s hard to commit to him going forward.

It is kind of funny how much this board complains about players complaining... especially how it goes instantly negative any time anything goes wrong.

Doubling Jimmy at the end of the half worked well. But, they are likely going to draw up some ways to take advantage of that, and I just don't trust the Celtics coaching staff to have the adjustment to the adjustment.

Charles Barkley at half "the refs are awful" and "I'm embarrassed by the Celtics. The lack of mental toughness is embarrassing."

The problem with this team isn’t timeouts. I wish it was but if they are being coached to play this way it is terrible and if they are coached to do something different they aren’t listening.

Our defense is listless and our offense has no movement or spacing.

I thought you meant the roster needed another scorer?

And again, the coach is responsible for their offensive an defensive systems. The players are definitely playing like shit but they are again very clearly stymied on both ends and it’s a coach’s job to find ways to give his players better opportunities. We keep doing the same things and keep failing the same way. It’s the old insanity adage

Chuck is absolutely right. The refs have been awful, but the Cs need to stop being so mentally weak about it. You can't play about the refs even if they suck.

On the other hand, Chuck listing ML Carr, with Birds, KG, Pierce, and McHale was weird as hell.

He's also got 3 fouls, and would've had 4 if Boston hadn't had to burn their challenge in the 1st quarter. He's hustling, but this is Nesmith style hustle. It ain't winning games.

I know we are Celtics fans and so see everything through the prism of our team. But the Celtics are not the story of this game or even this series. It is the Heat.

Could the Celtics be playing better? Sure. But the Heat are fucking fantastic. Just like the Panthers. Fucking sucks and it is hard to believe. But that is the bottom line.

Word: someone else needs to start in the second.
This is wrong. Jaylen is a key part of this team and they cannot go away from him if he can play. He needs to be better. He needs to make better choices. And if we lose in part because he doesn’t that’s on him (and the rest of the team), not the coach.

The Jays 3-12 in the second quarter, all at the rim. 0-4 from three. Zero free throws for the Jays in the first half, 3 assists to 5 turnovers.

Miami bench up 25-10. Miami lead is 15 points. Brogdon, 0-4, zero points, and team leading minus 16.
