I was waiting for them to quit in Game 3 and boy did they.
Tonight, I think they will come out with good energy and if they hit some 3s they will stay engaged. But as soon as it gets tough, or if their 3s don't fall, I'm expecting them to quit again.

I have more faith in the posters here than you do.

What? Brown didnt like Ime? He helped Ime get hired? Not sure where you got that
There were rumors based on some subtweeting (or the instagram equivalent) that Jaylen did and other whispers, that Jaylen was upset at Udoka who he thought was pushing for them to trade him for KD. Also some people noted that while Smart and Tatum mentioned that they had spoken to Ime after his suspension Brown said they weren't in touch.
It's all a bit gossipy as these things are

If Woj tweeted it, there’s a close to 100% chance it came from Ime’s camp and thus should be given very little if any weight in the grand scheme of things.

Edit: referring to the underlying “Cs players are pissed Ime was fired” part, not the Brown/Ime rumors specifically.

Woj tweeted what? You mean that the guys are still mad about Ime? Oh I 100% agree, that was from Ime's agent. I was just noting that there had been some rumors that Jaylen and Ime ended not particularly tight that floated around from various places.

Yeah just edited my post to clarify. I don’t remember the Brown stuff specifically but it’s just as plausible as any of the other Ime-related stuff.

I think they are shamed into a win tonight and then blow a lead in game 5 in excruciating fashion after giving us hope.

I think CJM will get outcoached again tonite by Spo, and the players will have to win the game in spite of that

I feel like the outcomes are:
Best- we win by playing really well
Worst- lifeless slog to Cancun
Funniest (positive): We shoot lights out, Miami goes ice cold, we win
Funniest (negative) come out with no energy, Joe decides he's getting fired anyway and puts in the Bus 1 boys in the 1st half, runs full-court press or something.

Honestly I think most likely is it's a close, kinda ugly game.

I think the Celtics have to come out strong. I worry if the game starts like 12-4 because Miami makes a few tough threes. I think it will be really tough to persevere if that happens. The Heat will make a run and the Celtics will be unable to put together stops at some point in the game, because that's just how it goes in the NBA. What's critical is that doesn't happen too early. It needs to be after the Celtics have their footing.

You may be right. So you'll be hate watching then?

I am on record but just to be clear, I believe that after all that has transpired that Boston has a decent chance to win this game. Not only that - I am rooting for it.
Won’t be watching, will absolutely be rooting for a win because I think there is a non-zero chance of an ALCS redux if they can manage to get a single win. But based on everything we know they’ll crumble at the first sign of adversity.

Today is my birthday. Other than pounding Duck Donuts and Crumbl Cookies, it was just another day full of meetings. Being old is like that.
But tonight, tonight will be different. From my perch at the Residence Inn in the Cleveland suburbs, I expect to see the Celts show some gumption, some heart, some fire, and enough talent to get the win. Please, please win so I can forget about the fact that I'm spending my birthday alone in a Residence Inn in the Cleveland suburbs.

Entirely fair. This team doesn't deserve anyone's undivided attention for sure.

That said absent better odds, I will take your ALCS redux scenario but that's not even a thought until this game is over.

Win please.

Just win so I can at least listen to one more set of Celtics Podcasts tomorrow that don't make me want to vomit.
Ha, this sounds exactly like my day (s).

Also a win in Miami could mean a momentum shift: the Heat are for sure going to want to close out at home.

A win by hook or by crook tonight will make me happy. Hornswoggle the Heat.

This Cs team is immature, poorly coached and a little gutless. That said the talent differential gives them a better shot than most teams down 3-0. I would bet they lose tonight, but if they win, it think it most likely gets to at least 6.

"Win It For Bob Montgomery's Helmet Hat" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but whatever works.
If there is any franchise in the NBA that will he the 1st to come back from an 0-3 hole, it would be the Boston Celtics.

It starts with 1.
You bet your ass.

Fuck this shit. If this team wanted to quit, they do it down 3-2 in the conf semis against the MVP. They may not win this series, but they've been pretty resilient to a challenging season and playoffs. Get on the wagon now, or stay the fuck off. The Jays got tonight.

If the choice is between losing in 4 or 5, I choose 5 because that way they face the wrath of the Garden crowd, and rightfully so.

Losing tonight lets them off easy.

Eh I’ll get back on the wagon if they win tonight. I’ll never forget watching the 9th inning of game 4 in my bed, lights off, hangover already slowly creeping in after drinking through the Pats 20th straight win, but nevertheless still watching. And receiving a single word text from my buddy. ALIVE. I hope we have that moment tonight.

There have been a lot of narrative games lately:

End of Game 6 against Philly (lose and it's a long summer for Tatum)...

Game 7 against Philly: A Game 7 at home against a long-time rival and the kid goes supernova.

Game 3 against Miami: Something is rotten in the state of Denmark

and now...

Game 4 against Miami, Win: Could it be 2004? Maybe it was just shooting variance. Joe can keep his job! Jaylen will sign the SuperMax, right?

Game 4 against Miami, Lose: A fucking sweep? Gutless! Spineless! Blow it up! New coach! Ship out Jaylen and Smart and Brogdon and Al and don't bother with Grant or Pritchard!

I prefer winning.

That's the White take in the lane we haven't seen. He saw Bam was out of the lane and went right to his spot.
