Nobody Cares
This one from Tempe's second-favorite sons, The Refreshments, goes out to Garrett Whitlock. He will prove to be the proverbial king of the hill in another Sox victory tonight.

Verdugo has to be one of the best, so far this year anyway, at spraying it around/using the whole field.
You know who else likes to spray it around? Reese McGuire.

Motionless.
Oh, that's right, you just don't see cactus arms (glochids) swaying in the breeze!

D-Backs announcers (good guys), after last night was pretty much in the bag with Sale, said the Red Sox should be feeling good about the series and Whitlock vs. Zach Davies tonight. Not sure why. Let's go big Whit, anyway.

Davies making first appearance since coming off the IL is what they were talking about

I recorded the post game from last night and watching it now. Cora said that Sale wasn't going to pitch long because he had a stomach bug and couldn't keep food down.

Game 52
A 7-2 win against the D-Backs.
The Sox came out tough and took some good hacks.
On a day we have doubts as Cora sits,
Duran and Devers, we get 14 hits.
Tapia led off, contributing 2.
Casas gave flashes of what he can do.
Verdugo’s 3 hits showed his slump is done.
KiKe delivered a massive homerun.
2 hits from Turner. 2 doubles from Wong.
In regard to pitching, Chris Sale looked strong,
as did Winckowski and Bernadino.
Boston looked great, and as far as we know,
it could be a sign of good things ahead.
We’ll all find out soon as we multi-thread
the Sox and the Celtics, hoping they might
both be victorious Saturday night.

I can’t believe you’re still doing this! And continuously still very good!

Exiled
Replay makes it look like Dugie would have been safe if he'd taken off at the same time as Masa. Instead he stood there watching to see what was happening

That's just a great piece of hitting by Marte.
It really was. The way it went down -- pitch in and down, the weird swing, the line shot just inside the pole -- reminded me of Masa's homer in the WBC. I'd like to say the resemblance means something but any NewAge vibes in me left my worldview quite some time ago.

I think it's a time-of-day thing with this ballpark. The only Fox thing I've minded so far is how loud the crowd mikes are. I have had to turn the sound way down.
I mean presumably Valdez could see the grounder hit to him that was invisible on the broadcast, so I'm not sure it's all the park.
