The Land of Thomas Cecil
I am come amongst you, as you see, at this time, not for my recreation and disport, but being resolved, in the midst and heat of the battle to trample Washington, to live and die amongst you all; to lay down for my God of BABIP, and for this kingdom’s fan base, and my pinstriped people in uniform, their honor and my blood, even in the dust. With I have the heart and stomach of the kings of New York, thinking fouly with scorn upon Tampa, Queens, or Boston, or any prince of the East, should dare to invade the borders of our realm: To which rather than any dishonor shall grow by me, I myself will take up arms, I myself will be your general, judge, and rewarder of every one of your virtues in the field.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the Bronx, we shall fight on the gloves and bats, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our borough, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches of Los Angeles, we shall fight on the landing grounds of Kansas City, we shall fight in the fields of Wrigley and in the streets of yesterday for the pride of today and tomorrow’s game, we shall fight with all of our blood; we shall never surrender. And we shall win.

First pitch 7:05, also on MLBN if you’re without YES or MLBTV.

We know he can’t play third competently, 1B and LF are less clear. I would have gone with this infield combo too, hurry back Luke and Gio and Rougy.

I know he's always done some of that stuff, but Soto's antics during that AB were more than I ever recall seeing from him. You can take a pitch without doing a dance.

Clint made a diving catch in deep left-center, similar to one Yaz made in the same spot in 1967. I bet Clint covered more ground.

Lots of loud outs for Yanks tonight, which is actually a good sign. Frazier has lined out to center twice. Hicks lined to short and left. Stanton just woke up Schwarber with a sinking liner. Not to mention three homers. Gary also flew out deep to center.

94 on low outside corner. And then Clint takes another heater. And a great take on 2-2. Grounds out hard to short.

It’s up to Miggy with two outs.

I paused this game right after WAS went ahead 4-3 and when I just noticed there were no posts after 9:35, I checked the final score and will save myself the rest of that and go start the Knicks game, so thanks for your silence, all.

It's not ideal that Green and Loaisiga becoming mortal happened in back to back games but of course it was inevitable at some point. I mentioned it the other day but Loaisiga has never been used this frequently before, they have been very careful with him previously. Please don't break him, Aaron. I thought this would be a good game to try Mike King and give Green/Loaisiga another day but that is a lot easier to say sitting at home.

Also the offense is still mostly dead, that can't last but it continues to. As Terry said, a ton of hardhit balls right at fielders tonight, annoying.

Also, hire back Carlos Beltran before he goes somewhere else. I wanted Cashman to hire him over Boone originally, and I think Boone is pretty bad at improvising from the plan when needed.

Knicks didn’t end up any better, skipped the end of that one too. Good Bandcamp Friday though!
