Call me crazy, but I think this is the game where the Celtics finally get over the turnover hump, take care of the ball and win a tough but not actually that close game.

Game hero: Grant Williams, who neutralizes Draymond and scores 12 points in the second half.

Most important game of the series so far. Win tonight and they are firmly in the driver’s seat.

The ref crew tonight is incompetent (Capers, Fitzgerald, Lewis). There will be a lot of fouls and a lack of flow to the game. The Celtics completely lost their composure during the last Lewis game (miami, game 6). Need to play through it. Limit turnovers and score in the paint.

They're winning tonight. Might not be easy but that crowd is carrying them to the finish line. Place is going to be a fucking zoo.

My sister and I are attending tonight's game. The last big time game we attended together was Game 4 of the 2018 World Series in LA, so I think we bring pretty good juju.

I flew in for her baby shower last night (she's 8 months pregnant), but we both understand we have more pressing matters first.

Take care of the ball and WIN.

The Garden crowd needs to bring it moreso than they did Wednesday night. It's got to be the best and loudest crowd of the playoffs.

The story is the same, folks. Don't turn the ball over, move the ball with pace and space offensively, and get out on GS's shooters. Do this and you win. If you turn the ball over, get stagnant and stand around on offense, and let Curry get his shot off with space and you lose. Please, please come out with the same intensity and energy you came out with on Wednesday night. This is too important of a situation to just coast and float because you won the previous game.

Win tonight and you are 48 minutes from a ring. Nothing else motivationally should be needed.

She can't expose her child to all that naughty language!

I can't tell whether this is a "house money" game or a must-win. Just win anyway.

Wait, G6 vs. Miami wasn't one of the bigger ref travesty games though, was it? (Trying to remember). I just remember Butler going off and Miami sinking a bunch of 3s. Team fouls and turnovers were pretty even. Not that Lewis doesn't suck...

Definitely not a house money game. Lose this and you're faced with a must-win game on the road against an experienced team with pedigree who won't be hurt by a home crowd out to prove something.

Friday night in the Garden is going to be a good time. If anything, important for the Cs not to get too high. Sometimes the crowd gets rocking and they forget to play a little bit.

This feels like a Tatum explosion game where he just can’t miss. I’m feeling 40+ points tonight with utter dominance defending, passing and rebounding as well. Time for him to take the next step into basketball immortality as a top player of his era.

Prove it, JT. Get it done.

While that would be awesome, I don' think it is necessary, nor likely.

Just don't play like assholes.
This for sure.

I wasn't nervous for Game 3. I am for Game 4. This one is big. Win and you're up 3-1 and you've guaranteed yourself a home close out opportunity. Lose and you need to win another on the road where the calls may not be going your way. This Celtics team has shown incredible resilience and bounce back all playoffs. But, for once, I want that killer instinct to come out. You're up 2-1. You're at home. They're on the ropes. Time to assert yourselves.

I want the Celts to change two narratives tonight:

The Warriors own the third quarter

So far, they have. We all live in mortal fear during halftime. Just once, the Celtics need to outplay Golden State in the third.

The Celtics can't stand prosperity

Yes, we keep winning after a loss. But we also keep losing after a win. Cut the shit.

*****

I think the story of this season becomes even sweeter if the general perception afterwards is that as the finals evolved, the Celtics ripped away the Warriors third quarter mythos and killed their own complacency. The Sox murdered mystique and aura. The Celts can do the same.

Its time for a maturing Celts to take real control of this series. play smart, physical and consistent D and don't take anything for granted, including the advantages of playing at home. Play your best 2-way game and grab this series.

The Warriors are +43 in the 3rd quarter for the series and the Celtics are +6 in the 1st, +6 in the 2nd and +40 in the 4th.

It's an oversimplification but it feels like if the Celtics can limit turnovers and play more competitively in the 3rd they will win the game.

Dominating the boards like they did in Game 3 would be nice as well.

Torching the Warriors in the third would be a "making Ivan Drago bleed" moment.

Prove that the monster is mortal.

Take away anything that the Warriors and their fans might cling to for solace.

Extinguish hope.

Remove all doubt about which is the better team. Make the question absurd on its face.

Win.

Prediction: Celtics starters in early foul trouble. Single possession game late in the 4th. Team that executes victorious, and at least one questionable call in final minutes that losing team's fans feel cost them the game. Marcus has had some poor turnovers in this series, and I think we see a strong game from him or a big play late to endear himself with the Boston fans even more on home court.

This. Don't turn the ball over, we need a good 3rd quarter and a killer instinct.

Last third quarter showed significant improvement and was tainted by the flukey seven point possession. I expect further improvement on that front tonight.

Lots of posts about what is going to happen here. I don't know what the future holds but this game feels huge.

Please win Cs. And don't play like assholes

I really want “don’t play like assholes” to become a thing. Need 2 more wins for me to be able to use that expression in a variety of settings for the rest of my life.

Its already in the lexicon but I agree two more crystallizes it.

One of those two needs to be tonight. LFG

I'm terrified of a STEPH CURRY game, where he goes for 50 or something.
I’m terrified of all of this / I cannot help to think that if they do not win how I’m going to deal with anything. This feels so big to me / almost like a Pats Super Bowl. I’ve found love for this Celtics team much moreso than the Garnett, Pierce & Allen team. I loved Pierce as much as any Celtics player since Bird.

But Tatum, Brown, Smart & Time Lord have become part of me. And coupled with the return of Al the team reminds me of the great teams from the past.

And the one dude who makes it extra special is Robert Williams. Please please be ok to play like you did in game 3. Please!!
