Celtics by a dozen. They are the better team even with KP sidelined.

Man, this KP news is such a bummer. Going to need the stars to especially step up tonight.

This feels like a Dallas win tonight but hope to be wrong. Given KP news, just want to see JT get back on track.

Here
Woj basically said KP is done for the year. Al is ready, though. He’ll explode one game.

Dallas is going to have a game where PJW and DJJ go off. Hopefully that is offset by Tatum getting his shot back. The Mavs lob game without KP makes me anxious.

I’ll be curious to see if Kornet can get some effective minutes.

I am surprisingly calm going into this one.
Same. Probably because it now feels like a game the team legit should lose (KP out, and the lower seed down 0-2 usually wins game 3), and there's something calming about going into a serious playoff game as the underdog.

The cradle of the game.
Damn. I've come down with some kind of flu thing and felt like shit all day. But if we're riding with 1 more for the Cooz, then I'll man up and put on my drinking cap tonight.
That's the KFP we all know and love... team above self.

I think we should come out and punch them in the mouth. Throw some Kornet in front of people. Take the foul, but send the message:

There's a bunch of reasons why Mavs "should" win, but I dont think KP was the key to the lob-stop.

For the radio crowd....Grande just teased some story about JM (WV) getting a call from Jerry West (WV). after the commercial.

Then again, a win tonight is as close to lights as you’ll get without having flipped the switch off. If the Mavs win, it’s on.

Gotta meet the Mavs initial surge and punch and punch back harder and hopefully deflate a desperate team .

LETS GO CELTS
I'm sick of hearing about the Mavs coming out hot. Hang 40 on them in the first quarter and go from there.

Horrible luck getting injured while being boxed out on a made FT for KP.

I hope Boston jumps on Dallas early, and shooting variance occurs, with Boston lighting it up from three.

If Dallas wins this one, they make it a series.

Time for the Jays, and especially Tatum, to grab this series by the throat. I’m expecting a triple double from JT tonight.

Certainly. I don't think the team (at least the players) feels like this is a game they don't NEED to have, but purely from a fan watching standpoint, it's slightly less stressful (imo) knowing it's both a game that you don't absolutely need and a game that will be extra difficult to win.

I posted somewhere on this board after he hurt his calf that the silver lining of KP being out was that the Celtics seemed more likely to stay focused in the face of success, which has been a problem for that in prior playoff runs. Then they went 9-1 against playoff opponents without him. They still have the talent to win, but get that edge from the knowing that they have to be at the top of their game without one of their best players. It's not a terrible position to be in, yet.

They just showed a Kyrie Irving- Marcus Morris meeting of the minds.

no way in hell that team wins with those two losers poisoning the locker room.

I’m really anxious right now. Like I’m feeling it physically.

That said, I suspect these guys know what to do, have tuned everything else out, and are coming into this one focused. Contrary to playing loose being up 2-0, I think being this close to a championship keeps them dialed in, and I suspect they’re actually far more motivated than Dallas. Could see them just willing themselves to a win.

JM pregame radio (more or less) "our expected points is higher than our actual, so I'm good with how we're playing...."

Just in case anybody hasn’t wandered over to the Jerry West thread yet, @Kliq opened it up with a tribute that is must-read stuff.

Good angle, I could see that.
