And no, Luka, you don’t need to do the same thing to win. The Celtics need to do the same thing. They beat themselves tonight.

I'm going to avoid media for a few days, but it's going to be gross. The point differential thing will come up a million times. Biggest point win in finals history. What if Luka hadn't fouled out in G3? Blah blah. Cs played like shit and the whistle when it mattered was badly tilted. G5 is not going to be a cakewalk either, but I'm confident they'll get their shit together.

If it makes you feel any better, I ate a $70 chocolate of ostensibly 4g of psilocybin to better enjoy DC’s Pride Parade last weekend only for it to turn out to be bunk. At least I rocked the “Proud Dad” gear.

Ah shit. Mine kicked in a little late. Hope yours did tonight.

At the very least, what a fuckin' RUN on your end. Right? Like longest win streak ever in Celtics history. Like it's honestly up there win Win it For in SoSH history of success and what you did here.

If the Celtics still win the Finals, their 38-point loss tonight would be the largest of any team that won the championship within said Finals, be that NBA, BAA, or ABA. This would surpass 2013 Miami who lost by 36 in Game 3.

Hopefully Lively proclaiming we’ve been figured out, plus confetti for a 3-0 win, is the true start of the end here.

Cheapest ticket on StubHub right now for game 5 is $1,898 after fees. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a New England sporting event command that price before.

The confetti was hilarious. Reminds me of Philly. Best thing Marcus Morris ever did was troll Embiid with the 3-0 gesture during a similar Game 4 letdown. Wish one of our guys hit one of them with that tonight. Hopefully this Game 5 is similar to that one.

I'm over it too. Still 3 - 1 with 2 out of the next 3 at home. But for the love of god... can they please have a game where they all shoot well from 3?

At this point I'd be happy with a game where they all make their layups. Can't even count how many times a Celtic drove to the rim and clanked one from 3 feet away.

KP's special situations in minutes restrictions sounded a lot like pregame that he was going to be able to hit the floor if they were up like 20 at the end to say he played in the clincher, a la Landon Dickerson against Ohio State in Saban's last national championship, to give the final snap for the kneeldown. How tonight played out re-affirms those thoughts.

I'm not sure.. the Celts were done pretty early. You may be right, but I think the only difference could have been that KP came in early instead of Tillman..but I think Joe wanted to wait to see if the Celts could pull it back to closer before he used KP.. at the very best he probably has limited run available, so no need to use him if it's going to be in a losing effort. Not sure if he's in the stem the tide shape at the moment.

My tomahawk ribeye, fancy bottle of red, and tie-dyed “Walton” shirt that were planning to be celebratory this evening, will just be a great fucking meal in a great fucking shirt.

Celts in 5.

Not gonna lie, when I first envisioned how this thread would look at 12:15am tonight, I wasn’t envisioning exchanging of pulled pork recipes.

Dammit, Celtics.

Game 6 of the 2013 World Series was up there. I had my season tickets in the bleachers back then. I could have unloaded those for about $1500 a pop. But I went and had the fucking time of my life.

Inflation adjusted I think the ‘79
Tea Men vs Rowdies at least came close.
You're dating yourself with that one. I used to take my wife and son to see the Tea Men and the ASL RI Oceaneers who preceded them before we moved to upstate NY in '78. I think it might still have been called Schaefer Stadium back then. Good times.

Celtics lost Game 5 to Lakers in ‘08 up 3-1.
It was 2-3-2, though.
Notably the Celts fell behind by 19 at the start of the 2nd quarter of that game... but unlike last night, they made multiple huge runs and tied the game a few times and even had a very brief lead before fading at the end. It was tied at 90 with 4:35 left, and then 97-95 Lakers with 1:14 left, with a final score of 103-98.

Also, we all remember the Garden Party in game 6, but I for one had forgotten that it was a close game through ~16 minutes, 32-29 Celts before they ended the half on a 26-6 run.

I’ll never understand how a team this good can play this bad. It’s fucking maddening.
Maddening is the correct word. I have never seen more rim outs in a game before. And I quit watching attentively in the 3rd quarter.

They literally had their worst game under CJM. Ever. And it was in a closeout game in The finals.

Fortunately, this isn't something that regularly occurs. Flush this abomination. Wish we could erase it from the record, but we can't.

I look forward to this being only of those stats they put up in the future in games referencing the 2024 NBA Champion Boston Celtics.

I bet they slept like total shit Wednesday and Thursday, which probably impacted the energy.
