Any reports on his defense?
Because as a 22 year old in AA he's hitting very very well.

Did the organization just stack all the interesting prospects on DSL2?  Seems that way at least.

SSS, but Lorenzo Cedrola looks like someone to follow in the DSL.  17 years old and a triple slash of .354/.435/.506 with 7 XBHs, a 9/6 K/BB, and already 10 steals in just 21 games.

FWIW, happened to be in Portland on Saturday and caught the game, was impressed with Margot's AB's, the HR was crushed and he also flied out to deep right in the prior at-bat. I think that was his first AA game, looked comfortable

Don't look now but Trey Ball is sporting the nifty 1.33 WHIP.  I'll admit it, I'm jumping on this bandwagon hard.  Only question I have is what's up with the increase in walks?  Is he trying to master a new breaking pitch or is this an area to watch with some concern?  His K/BB isn't really that great (although it's the only negative that jumps out).

A 1.33 WHIP is nothing to write home about.
In June, Ball has made five June starts, compiling a 3-1 record with a 1.59 ERA and just a .184 batting average against. Admittedly peripherals aren't great but it does seem that he's making progress. And if he doing all of this while learning to command all three of his pitches, that would be a good step.

There's plenty to like about Ball's progress, but his WHIP is not one of them.  Frankly just seeing him retire batters with regularity and prevent runs is a good thing.  The peripherals like K/BB, K% and GB% definitely need to start developing but at this stage it's good to see him just getting batters out.

True, but it's 1.09 over the last 5 starts. The trend line is what is encouraging.
