Seven scoreless for Severino. Pretty sure they'll pull him for King but I wouldn't mind seeing him start the 8th.

Gallo is a trainwreck. I blame JA and his constant lobbying for a Gallo trade before it ever happened.

Why does Holmes have to pitch? Why can't King just finish this? He barely threw any pitches in the 8th.

Heh, whatever works for you. Three of the four guys NY sent to TEX in this deal are already in the majors, but I still think it was a good move, it just hasn't worked out.

That pitch to K Torkelson was crazy, 98 with slider movement. Please don't break, Holmes.

1 hit shutout.

I don't actually regret the trade, just never been a Gallo fan and he hasn't done anything to change that.

Good thing the pitching is so ridiculously good.

It’s sad that Sevy is going to the minors.

But that is what happens when you don’t carry a perfect game into at least the 7th inning on this team. Hopefully he can improve.

Jordan Montgomery right now has the ‘worst’ ERA of the 5 NY starters at 3.04. This puts him 26th in all of MLB, ahead of guys like Bieber, Montas, Buehler, Eovaldi and Rodon.

With Loaisiga out along with Chapman, and Green being done, I'm pretty OK if the Yankees want King in the setup role and are cutting down on the multi-inning work. Not that they are definitely doing that, but if King is good at it, being available to pitch more often for one inning at a time would be nice. Maybe get a few closing opportunities too, to cut down on Holmes' workload. Clark Schmidt can take his old multi-inning gig for a while and we can see how it all goes until Loaisiga and Chapman get back.

If bats keep mashing as it gets warmer, spacing out saves and holds will be easier to do, and having a King/Holmes tandem available at the same time to shut the door is mighty nice.

That bunt single was huge also, they were playing four outfielders and no one on the left side of the infield and he laid down a perfect bunt to reach with two outs and no one on, and NY ended up scoring 3 runs to push a 2-0 lead to 5-0.

Also at least two of those homers have been so close to the pole that I really wasn't sure if they were fair until they were announced as such.

When I saw your post I assumed they were facing a lefty. Surprised to not see the hot hand in Carpenter in, particularly against a righty.

Yet still Gallo and Hicks are in there, too bad none of those infielders can play LF.

Hmm, don’t think I’m going to pay $5 to watch this lineup sleepwalk through an early morning game.

Sorry this is effing absurd. Peacock now too? I refuse. Pretty soon you're going to need every streaming service to watch every game. I draw the line somewhere and something has to give.

This is the only Peacock game this season at least.

Gleyber with a bunch of shoddy defensive plays already today.

87 pitches through 6 for Montgomery, probably done with Schmidt ready.

Obviously very sloppy by DET but credit to Rizzo for aggressiveness on the steal and on running on contact there.
