A win is a win. I’ll take one of these over the Yankees any time.

I’m on a family vacation and a pesky nephew is cheering for the Yankees just to spite me, and now my father in law gets in the act (guy has never cheered for a sports event in my 27 years of marriage) I’m guessing just to take his grandson’s side. Long story short, one more reason this win is satisfying.

They won it being down 2 runs -- but without getting a hit. Thats a new one (for me). Baseyball is crazy fun
They tied it up 3 hits to come back down 2.

The Yankees scored a run without a hit in the top of the 10th (courtesy of Manfred). The Sox scord 2 in the bottom without a hit in the bottom (one courtesy of Manfred).

You see something new in baseball every day.

Great win but we'll never ever see an inning like that again - 4 WPs and a Red Sox guy in the Yankee dugout

Wow. I just saw the box score after missing the game. This is great baseball!!!!!!

So, two teams scored three runs on no hits and one walk.

I hope not. This is a team whose future is ahead of it. We've played over our head and had a lot of luck, but team is not getting deep into post season no matter what. After watching Dombroski trade in tomorrow for today, I want to get back to the Epstein ideal of building for the long term.
Um, no. If Sale’s return is as good as Duran’s and Houck’s initial contributions, a mentally tough team becomes a legit contender. Shore up a couple of holes.

Speaking of Sale, a most likely future member of the HOF, he is in rebuilding mode. They are not going to overwork him this season. They will be rebuilding him for the next season. And likewise, Houck is a work in progress. The future is bright. But it's a matter of waiting until next year. Look, I am a survivor of the 2011 collapse, the 2003 ALC disaster, the muddling along through the late 80s until the current ownership, the 86 world series implosion - Schiraldi, Buckner, et al, the 78 collapse and 77 disappointment, (a result of Don Zimmer's mismanagement), the 74 collapse, the 72 fail of the last series of the year against Detroit. In short, I have seen the horror. I've seen the snail at the razor's edge. So yes, after seeing the glories of the 21st, I will take the occasional rebuilding year or two for a step upward.

I don’t know but please let this be true.
Yes, he was one of them.

The Yankees made the move to protect seven prospects and avoid December's Rule 5 Draft by adding them to their 40-man roster ahead of Wednesday's 8 p.m. ET deadline.

New York added OF Estevian Florial, RHP Deivi Garcia, RHP Luis Gil, RHP Brooks Kriske, RHP Luis Medina, RHP Nick Nelson and RHP Miguel Yajure to its MLB roster.

I was at a 2bleheader in Sept 86, when mark clear, then with the brewers had a similar meltdown late in a tie game. 3wp, bb, and a hbp. The few fans left were in the front row banging on the backstop chanting "wi-ild pitch, wi-ild pitch.."

Mark Clear replaces Tim Leary pitching
