The second statement I agree with, insofar as I haven't liked Roenicke since his Brewers days, but this disaster isn't his fault. With that said, I'd love knowing that instead of removing the interim tag, they simply made the font color white so it's invisible for this weird season. Maybe they have. I just would hate to see him back next year in this capacity. I think he's just bad overall. That's just my opinion.
I think the third statement is partially true in regards to the old regime. The Sox have failed at developing pitching, made questionable extensions and free agent signings. This goes back a ways. There was very little that Bloom and Co. could do this past off-season to make this club appreciably better. Especially with the way injuries and Covid have derailed the rotation and bullpen, let alone the luxury tax issue.
It is absolutely frustrating to watch, but I constantly remind myself it is truly a blessing to watch even abhorrent baseball, given where we are at.
Who wants .500 ballclubs. Either have a team competing for a championship or go into full rebuild mode. I'm finding a lot of positives with this season, esp if they make it far enough to reset the luxury tax.
