Or Montreal. But I think it’s a long shot either of this happen.not if Washington comes back.
Haha I didn't even consider Montreal.Or Montreal. But I think it’s a long shot either of this happen.
They should all just do a group Zoom call.Handshake time if that is still allowed.
It was short series, but every game was a butt-clenching battle.4-1 first round series win? I thought every first round was mandated to go 7.
If Dougie ever developed the mean streak that McAvoy is starting to show, he would be the best defenseman in the NHL. It might end up being Charlie instead.Dougie not physical? You don’t say.
To be honest, I was strangely calm for the entire third period today. It was short series, but every game was a butt-clenching battle.
Unless one of Montreal or Washington come back, I believe.Pretty much guaranteed to be TB now right?
Was thinking the same thing last night.I wouldn't be surprised if Washington came back. If they win Game 5, look out.
"Dougie" is talented but I'd much rather have McAvoy, he has good offensive talent and plays with an edge.If Dougie ever developed the mean streak that McAvoy is starting to show, he would be the best defenseman in the NHL. It might end up being Charlie instead.

Oh, I absolutely, 100% agree."Dougie" is talented but I'd much rather have McAvoy, he has good offensive talent and plays with an edge.
Makar will be in that group soon.McAvoy’s better. Top 5 defenseman in the game. He’s a monster.
I almost included him. He's 3rd on my list. Carlson probably 4th. Then from 5-10 it gets murky.Hedman is as good as anyone.
Carlson's numbers show him a liability in his zone...all of the other guys mentioned (including Dougie and Chuckie) are better two way guys. Carlson is a 2020 Mike Green...offensively elite but not in the top tier for me.I almost included him. He's 3rd on my list. Carlson probably 4th. Then from 5-10 it gets murky.
Here's the question I was debating the other day with a buddy. Would you rather have McAvoy or Werenski? I choose McAvoy, but it's closer than I'd like to admit.Carlson's numbers show him a liability in his zone...all of the other guys mentioned (including Dougie and Chuckie) are better two way guys. Jesus...I don't know how you decide that one. It's small margins. Would like to see Chuckie's numbers once he starts getting PP time. Here's the question I was debating the other day with a buddy. Would you rather have McAvoy or Werenski? I choose McAvoy, but it's closer than I'd like to admit.
Were you in a coma during the Pedro years?Like him or dislike him, Roger Clemens is the best Red Sox pitcher in my lifetime. I'm 63. Steroids on the Jays and Yanks or not he is a HOFame pitcher. And Manny's popularity doesn't seem to diminish with us through the years and he did Roids here. Yes Roger's a jerk but a fantastic pitcher. He is up on that list.
Well I was posting about who I liked and was my favorite. So since I despise Clemens and think he's incredibly overrated and comes up incredibly small in big moments, he's absolutely not on my list.Like him or dislike him, Roger Clemens is the best Red Sox pitcher in my lifetime. This needs more love. They should all just do a group Zoom call.
No I wasn't in a coma during the Pedro years. Fantastic HOFame pitcher. Clemens won 3 Cy Youngs. Bobby Cox said he's the best in his managerial era even better then Maddux. And he managed Maddux. And Clemens won 3 Cy Youngs here. It's a generational thing. it seems the Generation Xers and Millennials are obsessed with rings and titles. If Pedro didn't win a WS in 04 and Clemens won in 86 how different this conversation would be. From 98 to 2000 there was no pitcher more dominant in baseball then Pedro. He did drop off a little after 01. And Clemens did it 84-96.Were you in a coma during the Pedro years?
Pedro > Clemens and it’s not even debatable. Clemens had longevity and that’s IT.
You're way underselling Pedro and way overselling Clemens. No I wasn't in a coma during the Pedro years. Fantastic HOFame pitcher. Clemens won 3 Cy Youngs. Not at all. A lot of great pitchers haven't won WS titles. It just seems this generation and some even older forget our favorite players who didn't win it all. At Fenway's 100th anniversary game Kevin Millar got a bigger ovation then Dewey and almost as big as Yaz. Gee I wonder why. That was embarrassing .Rick Middleton is one of my favorite Bruins of all time. I don't care that he didn't win a Cup. They had to play the Canadiens of 76-79 who I think were the best team in my lifetime. You're way underselling Pedro and way overselling Clemens.
edit: I mean if all you think Pedro has is 'rings and titles' and Clemens is better because of 3 Cy Youngs and Bobby Cox?
Is there an arguement against Clemens being a great pitcher? Whose saying that? Not at all. A lot of great pitchers haven't won WS titles. Yeah.. nobody’s saying Clemens wasn’t good.. there’s a lot of other differences than just World Series titles.. Pedro was other worldly for a stretch.. and it’s longer than 98-2000. Even when Pedro wasn’t vintage completely unhittable Pedro he had so many pitches other than his fastball that he was still great. Is there an arguement against Clemens being a great pitcher? Whose saying that?
What Pedro did in 2000 is basically untouchable by every metric. A close second is what he did in 99. And that is well before he won a ring. Peak Pedro blows out peak Clemens - Boston, Toronto, or NYY version - and it's not close.
And that's nothing against Clemens. Pedro submitted the best pitching season of all time in 2000. For a full year, he was the best pitcher ever. And I dont think that's hyperbole.
You 100% missed my point. Not at all. A lot of great pitchers haven't won WS titles. It just seems this generation and some even older forget our favorite players who didn't win it all.
