With no home ice, does this really matter?
Just for last change in one game, not really. More encouraged that they pretty much dominated after period 1

I don't put a whole lot into the reseeding, they'd have to play teams of that quality anyway - they can skate with anyone once they have their legs.

If Marchand could do something with a man advantage other than try to force the puck to a covered Bergeron that'd be great

Well hopefully this pisses them off enough to have something more than “go through the motions” practices going forward.

It matters a lot because getting 4 means playing Pittsburgh. 1-3 means leafs or islanders or Carolina, all pretty meh teams. Pens are great as always. Want nothing to do with them ever in the playoffs.

They're going to be fine. They never make anything easy on themselves, even in the years they went to the SCF.

Any team you play in the playoffs is going to give you a series in the first round. It matters how they’re playing. Need to improve vs Washington.

How does this work? Obviously, best case is Philly beating Washington in regulation, the Bruins beat Washington in regulation (LOL), but if Philly loses to Washington and Tampa in regulation and the Bruins accidentally beat Washington, do the Bruins still get the 3 seed because they get tie breakers as President's Trophy winners, or does Philly get the tie breaker off of beating them?

California. Duh.
As soon as I heard the 3 game round-robin plan, I just figured the B's would end up being the first-ever Presidents Trophy winner that gets the 4 seed. Most important thing is to be playing well when the playoff games start, and today looked a lot better than the Philly game. So there's that...

They can't finish higher than 3. They can't catch Tampa. Either Philly ends up tomorrow with 4 points or Washington 3 points. So they can't catch both.

The tiebreaker is the regular season standings when they dusted the league lol.

Bruins win any tiebreaker because of their RS record.

I haven't been able to watch any of these round-robin games but if there's a silver lining to it that I see, it's that the Bs have had trouble getting into gear in the playoffs early on. They put up a stinker against Toronto in Game 1 last year. As long as they're ready to play come the start of the actual playoffs, they can beat anyone.

If you want to look at it from the positive angle, playing teams like Philly, Tampa, and Washington before the playoffs is a good thing. If you don’t play your best you will get beat and could look bad doing it. Your flaws will come to the surface real quick. Now they know what parts of their game they have to tighten up before it starts for real.

Yeah, it’s actually a joke if you think enough about it. This whole seeding tournament is bullshit. Never liked the idea from jump street.

It is but i really don’t like the coach even acknowledging it. It sounds like an excuse and gives the guys a reason to think it’s all a joke. His only answer should be “those are the rules this year, if we want to win we have to ignore everything else. Championship teams overcome adversity every year.”

Eh...I think he’s just using the media to get his (correct) point across. From everything I’ve heard/read about Butch, I doubt he’s whining in the room.

I’d rather play Pittsburgh than Carolina or Columbus at this point.
