It's unfortunate that this season was so rudely interrupted, because this C's team could have made some serious noise. They still might, but it won't mean as much.

This is an impressive garbage-time performance by Toronto's scrubs.

The first part of the season seems like such a long time ago.

I'll never understand why they don't even try to play the last two possessions or so before the final buzzer in a blowout. In a soccer game that's 3+ goals, the leading team doesn't just kick it to the trailing team and sit back and say "why bother". A baseball team up by 8 doesn't just offer to bunt it back to the pitcher to move things along. The bench is in there for practice - why not actually use it for practice? You've got, whatever, 20 seconds left in the game. Why was the previous possession worth trying to score on, but this one isn't?

Man I miss your optimistic outlook. I’m just as engaged as I would have been had the season not been put on pause for three plus months. Frankly I don’t think baseball or football will make it this season and I’m thrilled to have the Celtics and Bruins back in meaningful games. It’s a welcome distraction from the shit show that is playing out beyond the bubble. If the Celtics make serious noise in August and September it will mean just as much to me as it would have in April and May.

Jaylen was all over Siakam all game, it was as impressive a defensive effort as you’ll see on a talented wing like Pascal.

I feel you. I wanted to feel the same way, and maybe I'll get there eventually, but the lack of fans in the stands is killing it for me. The electricity of a sold-out house just can't be replicated. It's nobody's fault, except maybe bat-eating enthusiasts, but it's a shitty reality. I'll try not to be a buzzkill as I continue to process it all.

Word. The lack of fans is a drag and I could do without the fake fan noise.

Jaylen missed three open shots early. Two years ago it might have taken him out of the game completely. Instead he ends up with a perfectly solid line except he only needed 3 quarters to do it. Amazing.

IMO, this team is the best in the league when they move the ball like they did tonight and play defense like they did tonight. The question is, how often in the playoffs will they do both of those things in the same game? It's really hard to play your best on both offense and defense in the same game, and even harder when you're playing really good teams every night.

It's nice to see that they have such a high ceiling though.

Maybe they will come near that ceiling a few times in the playoffs. You never know, anything is possible.

So the playoff rotation looks like it's the starting 5, smart, wanamaker, and then 1 or 2 of kanter, williams, and ojeleye depending on the matchup?

I'll take that

I find myself just as engaged while watching the games, and the level of play has been excellent, but yeah I miss the Garden rocking. I still don’t know if it’ll mean less if the Celtics go deep, but I do know that I’ll be really bummed not to be in the house for it.
