PawSox jumped ahead 2-0 with runs in the t-2nd & t-3rd, but Owens gets roughed up in the b-3rd (single, FC, 2 doubles, 3 ER) and Durham leads 3-2. It could have been worse had Tim Beckham not been thrown out trying to stretch one of those two-baggers into a triple.

Owens hasn't been sharp, with 3 walks over his first 2 frames, and he's at 82 pitches (just 48 strikes) through 4 innings. I doubt he works past the 5th tonight.

Bulls starter Matt Andriese just struck out the side in the t-5th. He's retired 8 straight and has 8 Ks on the night without a walk (86 pitches, 59 strikes).

Wow, he's already done for the night, as Noe Ramirez starts the b-5th (and walks his first batter).

EDIT - A 2-out Nick Franklin solo HR off Noe n the b-6th makes it 4-2, Durham. On to the 7th with Lavarnway, Cecchini & Brown due up.

Hassan, Lavarnway & Cecchini are the last hopes in the t-9th, down 4-2. The PawSox bats have managed just 6 H & 1 BB tonight with 10 K.

They've got one back after Lavarnway K's with 1 out but reaches on a PB, and scores on a Cecchini double.

EDIT - Tying run on 3B after a Corey Brown ground-out. Two down for Swihart.

EDIT - Pop-up ends it. PawSox down 2-1 in the series, and they'll need to win 2 straight in Durham.
