9/13 Pats vs Dolphins

Ugh. Hate that rule.
It's a crap rule. The Dolphins didn't recover the football. It was just fumbled out of bounds. Last touched by New England. But on top of changing possession, Miami gets +20 yards of field position.

I mean, it's fair in that any team can get that call and it just sucks that it happened to NE here. But it is a colossally stupid rule.

And what really sucks is that Harry was playing great. Until then. Ugh.

Right call, but I hate that fucking rule. Why does the defense deserve the ball just because the offensive player fumled out of bounds in the end zone instead of out at 1-yard line?

Terrible rule but it's not a mystery. My expectations are 6 feet under for this guy, and he still manages to disappoint.

It happens like once a year - it’s a weird shitty rule. Not sure the big deal frankly, offense looks good

What an awful pick. Creates zero separation, not especially good at anything, and then you see guys like AJ Brown, Hollywood, and DK just killing it.

How are they making these WR picks?

Probably exists to prevent any "unintentional" fumbles forward into the end zone.
Yeah, but it's unnecessarily penal if that's the goal. Just make the rule that you can't advance the ball into the end zone on a fumble. Or even that you can't advance the ball on a fumble period.

I hate any rule in sports that penalizes trying to score points.

The big deal is that a young player who had a shitty rookie season and has been dragged all offseason was looking pretty good and had just had a confidence building drive before completely fucking it up. I really don't see the Dolphins scoring 14+ points here, so it probably won't matter in terms of the win, but it hurts.

He looks really good today, the one (pretty big) mistake aside. Making tough catches, hard to bring down.

Since the “Holy Roller” you already can’t advance a ball fumbled forward.

Shitty rule that will only get changed when the Patriots benefit from it.
The Pats already benefited from it. Wasn't it a game against the Jets where someone sort of bobbled the ball while crossing the pylon, and didn't even lose the ball entirely? Pretty sure it was at a critical junction in the game, too.

I’d worry more if he was still getting negative separation or dropping passes, but yes fumbling at the one instead of giving the team 1st and goal is real bad. But it’s not like they are pulling him out for the collection of nobodies behind him. They need him to take a leap.

Great play by the Miami linebacker, but Harry needs to have a death grip on the ball in that spot. He's not a very intuitive football player.

Only thing you couldn't do there. Damn.
