i don't think the Heat are more talented. the Heat have not gotten out to any huge leads yet. they just are crumbling late in games.

Here's what's either super frustrating or encouraging, depending on your point of view.

Celtics wins:
+8
+27
+8
+4
+18
+3
+22
+5
AVG: +11.9

Celtics losses:
-1
-7
-3 (2 OT)
-3 (OT)
-5
AVG: -3.8

So Miami (like Toronto before them), when they play *their* game, can barely beat Boston, but when Boston plays *their* game, they can beat people badly.

So is this a good thing or a bad thing?

So frustrating getting that stymied by a zone. Just kept letting them trap them at the wings and kept throwing the ball away.

Until any of the wins are against Miami it doesn’t mean shit.

Coach needs to have a team ready for a zone fucking defense.

No killer instinct. Dumb basketball. Bad combo.

Boston
Tatum was fucking awful tonight, loose with the ball and super tentative on both ends(maybe he's battling an injury?). And Kemba may have hit some shots but he was a turnover machine and a turnstile on defense

Did anyone actually think they'll pull off a win in a tied game with 3 minutes left the way this postseason has gone? Not ready for primetime.

We seem to be talking Brad all game for about 3 weeks, but anyway if you're going to have The Conversation, have it when there's no more games to play. Not like Doc is suddenly going to hop on a plane for Game 3. Just like the players, either Brad figures it out or he doesn't, not shit to be done about it in the meantime.

Post injury Hayward usually sucks, understandably. He's not an answer to anything. Not creating ten beyond lazy turnovers is a place to start.

During the last Nuggets - Clippers game, Malone called timeout after the Clippers cut the lead down from 15 to 12. I was thinking that would be nice.

Not fair
Their stud is a vet. Butler has years and pounds on Tatum. No slight on Tatum that Butler, at this moment, is better.
They have much more athletic big
Three great shooters, plus Crowder
Cs are quicker can get going when pace picks up.
It’s entirely fair. His teams are routinely choking down the stretch. He doesn’t adjust. He lets 3rd quarter disasters happen routinely. He’s a very good coach. We’re seeing his limitations in real time. And it sucks.

Celtics were flat and outright lax/lazy and sloppy on top. They gave up in the 3rd but caught back up and remembered they'd given up. That was gross.

our title chances were predicted on A) Tatum becoming a top 10 in the league player, B) health.

So no Hayward and Tatum bleh since the 4th of game 1, is this really a surprise? Still, the way they've lost is very confusing.

I don't understand so much about Brad's strategy in these games. If they are going to plant themselves in a 2/3 or 3/2 zone, you push the ball up the court and go to the rim before they have a chance to set up.

Once they set up, you stick a guy like Jaylen at the free throw line who can catch and turn and shoot if they leave him alone.

Instead, let's keep running 2 man pick and rolls with Tatum and Kemba, or Theis, and leave Jaylen in one corner and Smart in the other, twiddling their goddamned thumbs, without even a chance to get a board, which is the other weakness of that type of zone.

I fucking don't understand seeing any minutes out of Semi, when Grant Williams has chunks of him in his stool. I don't understand why you don't at least throw Robert Williams out there for a few minutes to put a body on Bam, and maybe give him second thoughts about trying to throw everything down...

Theis quietly played an AWFUL game (and I'm a huge Theis guy) and Tatum was horrible, with another 5 turnovers, and only taking 12 shots.

In game coaching matters in two possession games. Stevens is getting outclassed badly. He should have burned the timeouts to protect the lead. At the end of the game, he should have played Grant Williams so they could switch everything out top. Theis couldn't deal with Dragic.

I think the Celtics can make this a series. They need to get out to a lead and keep pushing. That third quarter was shameful.

Regarding the zone, they need to get someone in the middle of the lane with some size who can score and pass from there. Brown or Tatum would be an excellent candidate. Also, Rob Williams could help by being a lob threat, since the Heat are playing smalls at the back of the zone on both sides of Bam,

Better to win the blowouts and lose the close ones than the other way around. But we played a couple seriously flawed teams the first two rounds. Miami is much better.

If you think this year's Miami Heat are an insurmountable obstacle, plan on never winning a title, because this is as easy as it gets at this point in the playoffs.

Up 18 in the second. I understand Miami is a good team and runs happen, but they win going away with a 48 minute effort. That is what is infuriating and inexcusable. No adjustments for piss poor effort.

The amount of possessions they just treat like nothing is the most troubling thing. No idea how to bear down when the game gets tight.
