You don't think your environment and the types of areas and business that you are conducting can put you in bad situations?  It doesn't excuse the behavior, it's just a theory about how he could have gone from "risky" draft pick to "good citizen" Patriot for three years, back to "alleged murderer."  Unless there was a bunch of stuff covered up, it sounds like a guy who had put all that shit behind him, but then it came back big.

I totally agree with the first sentence.  It just sounds to me that Hernandez was putting himself in those situations rather than finding himself in them.  If that makes any sense.

Cap hit for 2013 is the same, as Hernandez had a guaranteed salary.  Since he's cut after June 1, remaining signing bonus of $7.5M is all accelerated onto the 2014 cap.

I just wonder about the balancing act of the Pats/Kraft in doing the "right thing" while not hamstringing football operations. And I agree the Krafts are not stupid people.prone to rash decisions. This probably has been discussed by lawyers for the past week.

Yup. I don't blame the pats for offering the deal or for realeasing him when this happened.  Seemed like a good idea at the time that didn't work out.  It happens.
