They couldn't motivate Gordon
They couldn't control Brown
They couldn't recondition Thomas
They couldn't un-retire Gronk

Been a rough year. Isn't AJ Green on the trading block yet?

There isn’t a trading block...

The Patriots have given up more than 14 points once in 10 games (albeit that once was to the top rival for the AFC). I don't think it's a certainty by any means that we couldn't win another 17-10 game.
Very true. But I'd be surprised if Brady looked at a game through the lens of the defense first. When the team doesn't score - Brady always says he didn't do his job. They scored 17 points yesterday - and won - and he looked miserable afterward. One constant with Brady is that he's most concerned with the things that he can control. He can't do a damn for the defense - except buy them some rest with long drives - but he does control the offense. I'm willing to bet he's not comfortable with a 17 point ceiling. And he shouldn't be as KC's KC and Baltimore's impressive (but hopefully peaking).

Since BB's loathes distractions - and this is an atom bomb - it'll be interesting to see if he gets out in front of this quickly to end it.
That’s just silly talk.

Next press conference:
-Reporter: Bill, we have heard the team is considering signing AB. What is the thought process behind that?
-BB: I don’t comment on players not on our roster.
-Reporter2: So you haven’t yet signed AB?
-BB: We’re onto Dallas

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Brown remains hopeful that a decision will come “very soon.” There’s a sense of optimism from Brown’s perspective that he will be cleared to return to the NFL before the 2019 regular season ends.
Brown, who is a free agent, can sign with any team at any time. He would provide a huge lift to a team that is headed for the playoffs or competing for a playoff berth.

Ha! Forgot for a moment this was BB. I stand corrected.

A guy I know was his social media manager several years ago. Very strange to see but he seemed pretty chill. This was a couple of years before the locker room incident.

Cool, so he'll get cleared and signed by KC, who has a fuckton more capspace than we have.

Do we think Kraft will let AB know directly whether he’s welcome back on the team or jerk him around for a bit?

Do we think he’ll be able to slide right into the offense, or will Belichick have to grease the wheels?

You didn't get the exact wording, but close enough:

"You'd have to ask Robert about that," he (BB) said. "I mean, every week you guys ask me about players not on our team and so every week it's going to be the same answer."

B- answer. He couldn’t have just said “it’s out of my hands?”

Damn I’m good. Or more likely, BB is damn predictable.

I'll start by saying I'm still new here.

Incarcerated Bob seems to be in the know on a narrow scope of things, had ABs extortion texts, raiders release and quite a bit of NY/NJ stuff early. Does he get the Chao/Tomase treatment here? If not, he's pushing a conspiracy that will be loved and hated on this thread.

IB had images of exculpatory Brown texts to his accuser from Brown’s phone, as well. He might generally be kinda FoS, but he has an in with Brown, quite possibly Brown himself.

Even if we entertain the notion that Bob would get over AB’s comments, why would Bill deal with this guy again? He doesn’t give guys with his baggage two strikes.

I think Belichick would do anything to make the team better, especially since their receiving corps is now down to Edelman and a bunch of kids who couldn't run routes as crisply as Brady's kids do in their LA backyard.

In a brief search, I couldn’t find who Brown’s lawyer is. Assuming it’s someone competent putting their name on the filing, it goes a long way toward establishing Brown’s credibility. People always threaten to bring defamation claims, but don’t because of the (additional in this case) discovery it brings.

Or it could just be bullying. I assume she doesn’t have the means to pay the compensation he’s seeking and maybe not to fight a war on two fronts.

Did he even give AB a first strike though? In that Friday press conference, it sounded like Brown was going to play. I think cutting him was 100% a Kraft (and Goodell) decision.

I mean, I know that the offense is faltering lately, but weren't we all aboard the 'good riddance' train back when we looked great and AB got cut? I remember a lot of talk about how much easier the team was to root for with him gone, I don't see how that's changed.

I feel like I could talk myself into rooting for him now by convincing myself the accusations aren't true, but if I did and it turned out they were, the disgust I'd feel would be worse than any joy I'd potentially get rooting for him or a team with him on it. Does that make sense? Like a kind of bizarre Pascal's Wager.

AB or not AB, that is ... NOT the question.

With Sanu sporting a high ankle sprain and Dorsett out with a concussion, quietly wondering why we’re not at Defcon4 over who is actually going to line up at WR on Sunday, let alone return the punts?

edit: N’Keal and Meyers with Edelman seems a bit thin, no?
