Decided to go up to the most likely to sign end of the draft pick in case Artis doesn't sign.

37th round pick is Jr out of UAB.  He was a DH/RHP at UAB but was drafted as a pitcher.  6'2 210 lbs.  Here is a little blurb about him on the UAB sports article.

UAB baseball junior utility player Adam Lau was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 37th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft on Wednesday.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to play professional baseball," Lau said. "I'm thankful for my family, friends, coaches and teammates for all of their support. Glory be to God for all the blessing he has given me and I'm excited to be apart of the Red Sox organization."
Lau was the 1101st pick overall, and the third Blazer to be taken in this year's draft. He was a 2015 All-Conference USA Second Team honoree, after turning in an impressive junior campaign on the hill and at the plate.
The Madison, Ala. native was named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year watch list earlier this season, and appeared in 22 games in relief with a team-best 1.71 ERA in 31.2 IP. He fanned 42 batters with a .181 opposing batting average, and earned a club-best seven saves out of the pen.
At the plate, Lau started the majority of UAB's 58 games at designated hitter, hitting .254 with four home runs and 21 RBI. He led the squad in stolen bases with 12 and tallied 36 hits in 40 starts in the field.

Final stats in the GCL

11 G, 11 IP , 0-0, 4.09 ERA, 6 BB, 14 K, 1.82 WHIP.

Hard to gauge much here as he had already thrown 31.2 IP in college this year.  Gave up 4 or the 4 runs he allowed in two outings.  Didn't so anything to make me think that he won't at least get  chance to start the year in Lowell next year.

I was at the game. He looked really good.

The Legends were hitting the ball well in the first game of the doubleheader but Lau had them more or less off of their game in the 2nd

He seems to be doing pretty well as a reliever. As always, I enjoy cheering these guys on. Thanks for the updates drtooth.

Lau is becoming an potentially interesting prospect as a reliever. I'm curious whether he can make the majors as a reliever. He is 22 now.
