Yeah, this is the funny part. It is like the line to gain. We look at the first down chain with a microscope but when they set the chains it is often on the fly and by guys who aren’t even refs trying to sight the refs, right?
Chain people are almost always local high school and college officials. But yeah it is definitely often done on the fly

Jimmy really needed to push the ball downfield on 2nd down instead of the little drop off.

No looks for Deebo the last two drives. SF really blew it here. A handful of really agonizing losses on this franchise going back to 2011.

Nines offense was totally disorganized in the fourth quarter. Not sure if you blame Jimmy or Shanahan or both.

Not all his fault but at the end of the day, Jimmy just not quite good enough for the big stage
He had no time at all, but he also tries playing street ball way too often. Take that second down dump off for two yards. What are you doing? Throw it away.

I don’t particularly like the Rams, but I dig Stafford going to the SB after years of hearing that he couldn’t win just because he was stuck at a horrible Lions organization. Having said that, I hope the Bengals crush these fuckers.

You think that team had a better chance of beating those Pats than this team would have had of beating this year's Bengals?
I don't think they would have beat other team. I think the Bengals are better than the 49ers especially as secondary is their weakness. They may have beat the Pats team (I doubt it), but Gronk was banged up.

Edit - I meant the dropped punt led more directly to the loss than the dropped interception.
